Now we've got Jarosik, Pennant, Dunn in midfield I want to see Butt defend more.

He keeps getting in the box. I want Jarosik there (might change now he's here).

I think the reason Butt was England's player of tournament was because he defended. He's at his best when he's making tackles, and making perfect low balls to midfielders, like Makelele.

I want Nicky Butt to defend more, and attack less. I think maybe Bruce has said this to him, or will now Dunn's back. I think he could get his World Cup form back, if he's more defensive.

I want to see him play the same way Makelele plays.

actually the reason butt was player of the tournament was cos of the telling passes he made, yes he did do some great challenges, but he also has a tendancy to get booked for reckless challenges....at st andrews we have enough players who can pass the ball back 30yrds to the keeper..we are a much better team when we attack the opposition...and not defending deep!!

Sky?

you know what, i think you're being serious aint ya?
how much of the game can you see on telly? all you see is the ball and whoever is around it at the time, you cant see movement off the ball, you cant get the "flow" of the game from sky, ffs.
and of course, i bet we're on about 8 times maximum and that includes prem plus.
its obvious all these foreign players you bang on about have been on the italian footy or channel 5 or something.
you really ought to get off yer @ss and get down there, nobody bites, you know!!

Butt has been great for us so far this season and has proved a few doibters wrong (me included) with his performaces. He seems to be getting back to the form that he had at Man U and in the last World Cup.

Once Dunn comes back into the team, i think he will naturally have to take on more of a holding role as we will have Jarosik, Dunn and Pennant to play the attacking roles.

..........Pennant.....Butt.....Jarosik.....Dunn...

Now that looks a pretty good set up in midfield.

The camera shot is wide enough to see who's moving.

I could buy a ticket if I really wanted, but I want to buy other things, and I don't want to pay to watch boring football. Sky goes further than a BCFC ticket, I can watch Chelsea, Arsenal, Man UTD and more games x4, for the price of one game. Arsenal are rarely boring to watch.

Yeah, I mostly watch players on Sky, Eurosport etc. What's wrong with that? First time I saw Gravesen was on TV, now he's playing for Real Madrid.

You buy into the 'hardcore family' thing. I just want to see good football, but support Birmingham City (and yes, I supported them in the lower divisions). I don't moan at you for paying to see Clemence, Tebily play, so it's pointless moaning at me (feel free though, but you're wasting your time).

If the stadium had an atmosphere like Portsmouth's, I'd probably buy a ticket.

you'll probably be surprised to know i watch some footy on sky including prem plus, and its a fact you dont see anywhere near all the movement, tactics, or nuances on tv you can see when watched "live" - fact.
its also true you cant judge a player properly from tv - fact.
i'm not moaning at you for watching telly, just for pretending to be a supporter and criticising the club/players/board when you have no intention of supporting in a practical way. thats your choice and i respect that, but get down there, join in, help with the atmosphere....... ;)

I've mentioned Huddlestone, Gravesen, SWP, Tymoschuk, Sissoko (all who have blown up recently). How can you not judge a player by TV? I did.

A pitch is 100m long, it's easily covered by a camera. They have cameras placed all round the field. Players only move when they're within running distance of a ball. They don't cover Cunningham standing still, if he's 40m away from the ball, because it's pointless.

'Pretending' to be a supporter. I've paid to watch BCFC, and it wasn't good football then. The day out was decent, because of the crowd. Now the crowd is !"£$ too. There's no point going to St Andrews. If you don't go to St Andrews it doesn't mean you don't support BCFC, it means you don't want to pay for something that's not worth the money.

Very valid point there, imo at the moment we are getting zero value for money. I cant stay away though, I must be a glutton for punishment.

I also want to see Dunn back but we have a few more weeks to go yet. The current midfield of Butt and Jarosik is really beginning to gel now they are both getting match fit again. They are real professionals that know how to play the game.

Potentially we have a great team and I just want to see a target man cover for when Heskey is not available. KRO

I hate armchair supporters that have an opinion and try to tell us, the fans who go week in week out their opinions when they ain't got a clue. All they do is repeat what Gary Linekar etc say on MOTD.
