much healthier performance flowing attacking football, let down by dire refereeing decisions. if we would have drawn with that performance we should be happy.hard luck lads |

I have to agree. The ref decisions were shocking, the linesmen patently required eye treatment to miss the goalie handling outside the area - he was stood right by him. Yes,an individual error led to the goal. But we DID in the 2nd half play some good attacking football, and were worth the draw at very least. It is wrong IMO to say that tactics were at fault today. |

Yes the ref showed he had a spine like a jellyfish in the first half, and charlton should have been playing with 10 men for the majority of the game. But the blame can not lie entirely with him, as the players finishing was awful. With the attempts made we could have easily equalised or even won it, but we didn't. Does anyone know how many attempts we actually had on target? I remember Pandiani's wicked shot in the first half but thats about it for me. Charlton were more than happy to defend and then try and hit us on the break, and i bet they couldn't believe their luck when they saw some of our supposed goal attempts in the 2nd half. |

Can i ask what drugs your on? a pish poor first half performance and the second was not flowing football at all, we had little spells of passing and it was better, but we run out of ideas after 4 passes and then just long ball it. |

Flowing attacking football isn't the problem. Jamie Clapham is, Kenny Cunningham is. |

I thought 2nd half we were pretty good, we made a lot more chances than we usually do, especially from wide areas. In fact I'd say the bare minimum we deserved was a draw. |

I have to agree those two just seem to get worse. Also, can someone stop Upson from playing those 'Hollywood' passes, he isnt david beckham and those sliced passes he persists in playing end up with us losing the ball 99% of the time. |

I think some fans could find a positive in Englands match.WE got what we deserved today...Nothing.. Never mind the stats, they aren't taken into account next May. It was dross throughout. When you play as we did v borough ,how on earth can't you improve.. If UPSON thinks he's england quality he's deluded .I do think our loyalty is being taken for granted now ,2 serving tea! Wet seat on back tier of kop! Stood it long enough! Either listen or more will stay away, although gratefull to the board,do they give as much of their income percentage wise as I do? I don't know what some fans see half the time, today the linesman did signal the handball by the goalie and if booked it was deliberate so he should have walked. All clubs are going to suffer if these refs are not sorted... At the tea bar today fans muttered at the service to themselves, only I made a complaint....WAKE UP.....Shout and you get better service without being rude..Today those missing fans didn't walk out, they didn't come at all. Marked improvement?????????????????Your having a larf! |

As someone else has said, the statistics will say it all. How many corners did we have? You don't get those without pressuring their defence or goalies tipping it over the line. No,we didn't make the most of our chances and that's got to be looked at in the training ground, but if you didn't notice the improvement in our attack today you were either a) wearing the same specs as the ref or B) were in the bar. |

As pundits across the land have said millions of times... You don't win the lottery fi you don't buy a ticket. Today's positive is the fact that we made enough chances to miss so many. It'll come good. Just wait and see. |

I couldn't even be assed to watch the game today, so I just watched MOTD waiting for the 20 second highlight. Dave C/Brom is right, everything looked good (and you know it's good when you can base a review on MOTD). Pandiani looked good too, K-bek! Gray making a run into space (actual calling for the ball, willingness to get involved) shows improvement. I'd start him based on that next week, because he's got all the skills, just didn't get involved enough before. Clapham was at fault for Bent's goal, he let Bent get in front. And he almost let Rommedahl score. I don't feel negative about it now, but Clapham still needs dropping. |

Footabll first commentator: "I hope the BLues fans dont' get on Steve Bruce's back after this because they've looked good in the 2nd half. It'll come." So it's not just sheep in blue tinted glasses who think we're on the right track then. |

I didn't see a lot, but the attacking looked good. Our players battered their goal. Clapham is still costing us goals from crosses and set pieces. I've got nothing negative to say, apart from Clapham. |

Julian Gray looks good this season. Just a bit more bottle, and he could become a very good player. |

Absolutley agree, partic second half good performance. Let down slightly by the ref and massively by the St Andrews crowd. Blues fans don't deserve a successful team. |

Probably the most ridiculous comment I have read on here ever. Dont deserve a successful team? Generations of families have followed this club since 1875. Father's have taken sons, year in, year out. Some of those fathers were born Bluenoses, supported the club all their lives, and died without seeing them lift a major trophy. Families make decisions about foregoing the annual holiday so that they can buy a season ticket to follow their team. They did so last year, and they'll do so next season, irrespective of the division the team are in. The St Andrews crowd have cheered average players to perform and over-perform, season after season. The reputation of the home fans has added a fear factor to visiting teams for years. And now because the fans are stunned into silence by the tripe they saw in the first half yesterday, and in countless clueless performances over the past 18-months, they dont deserve a successful team? If you want to see people singing and clapping while watching garbage, I suggest you try the 'Birmingham Refuge Collector's Gospel Choir'. Should suit your needs :) |

There is nothing wrong with the atmosphere. its a two way thing the team inspires the fans and the fans inspire the team. Look at the cricket the 1st test the fans were oh so quiet, now listen to them why the change simple they have something to cheer / sing about. |
