3-5-2 = looks great on paper , and can always drop into a 5-3-2 when needed and play wing backs

-----------------------Taylor
--------Melchiot--Cunningham-Upson
---------------Butt-------------DJ
Pennent-------------Jarosik-----------Gray
------------Heskey
----------------------Forssell

Ideal for our 2 defensive midfielders, and our quick wingers. Ok pennet and gray not the best at defending but with DJ and Butt there we should be solid enough

Your opinions?

You'd have Melchiot as centre back? His concentration is like Tebily's.

If we changed our formation, I'd want to see

Pennant-Butt-Jarosik

---------Dunn--------

----Forssell---Heskey

Dunn's wasted on the left, because Bruce isolates him, he can create less from the wing.

If Bruce is going to give him a 'free role left wing', he should just go 4-3-3 because teams will use the gaps he'll leave, Jarosik can defend in the left side 4-3-3.

I think Bruce needs to go back to the way he was using his players. All defenders just defend for their lives, and let midfield/forwards attack. Chelsea took this style off Bruce. N.Ireland used this against England.

I think Nicky Butt needs to be faster.

i like look on paper, but Bruce is defensively minded, he will stick to 4 at back,

so only flexibility is forwards and midfield,

The key is the attacking left and right wingers, Pennant and Gray, getting service to Heskey and forssell, although we did see Pandianni potential with that chip and shot.

Jarosik and Butt look strong in midfield,,, Izzet looked unfit... why did he do that substitution?
