thats fine by me because when we win in April, it means SB can do exactly the same and nothing will be done ..then again it will be BCFC so dont expect the word consistancy to enter the F.A's world |

"David O'Leary will not face an FA rap for his derby celebrations at St Andrew's on Sunday. But the Villa boss has been charged with misconduct for a breach of FA Rule E3 for comments made to referee Graham Poll. With regard to his post-match celebrations, the FA will not be taking formal disciplinary action. They have however reminded O'Leary that 'as a participant, and particularly in your position as Manager, there are rules of conduct that should be adhered to. Any future report of a similar nature may be followed by disciplinary proceedings. The FA now considers this matter to be closed'. Still being charged with misconduct though so not getting away totally free Stupid decision though. If Bruce had of done this i would love to see what the FA did. |

i think it's the right decision. don't get me wrong here, i think he was foolish and stupid to have done that in his position and it could have been a lot worse had he incited trouble. in recent years both clubs have fought hard to lose the problems associated with the two derby fixtures and O Leary was insensitive to that. had it been the other way round then we would be gutted if SB was charged. |

I think David Sullivan got it about right when he said it was a stupid thing to do but that its a shame passion cannot be shown. At the end of the day he wasn't jestering to us he was jestering to the directors box. Its was no worse really than when SB showed passion when he jumped on the pitch when we equalised at VP. At the end of the day football is a passionate game and I for one don't want to see that taken away. If anything passion is what we are lacking right now. |

In what way is that "good"??? Only if you define "good" as "my team's manager didn't get punished for inciting a riot". If you really believe this is good, then you must be either insane or an insane viler. (Question - is there such a thing as a sane viler??) |

It was total arrogance by oleary he made himself look a bit of a prat. I tend to think a Birmingham City manager would show more respect in that situation. Enjoy the moment fine but don't treat people as stupid with that arrogant jesture. If that was partly directed at the villa board and partly directed at the fans. I hope the incident is pinned up on the away dressing room wall in april. |

I have no problem with passion in the game...I do have a problem with an irish idiot coming over to where I sit and sticking his fists up into the air. Yes be passionate, yes jump for joy, but do it front of your own fans please! It was hard enough to lose but to have him jump around like a prize pr@tt in front of you was just rubbing the salt into the wound alittle too much!!! ....should have got banned or fined for it. I say we all do a moony to the Vile when we whoop their arses at the cowshed (I'm sure Proccy will be up for this one!) :P |

double standards again is it not. he should of been on a criminal charge let alone an FA charge. what this says is the vile can break all the rules but as long as ellis is giving back handers thats ok. there fans can do what they want as well. |

This is beginning to sound like sour grapes now and is being blown out of all proportion. The way I look at this and even David Sullivan has stated similar, is that he showed a passionate response to winning by going to jester to his chairman. Hes a total pratt for doing this but its was not meant with any malice towards us. I was wondering what the hell he was upto at the time but hearing the explanation its obvious it was just misguided passion. Hes a pratt lets just leave it at that. |

criminal charge? thats abit extreme isnt it. i must say i agree with sullivans comments (i cant believe im agreeing with him) that its a shame passion cant be shown in these games without afew getting it the wrong way. why does everything thesedays have to relate to violence <_< |

jester,i made reference to criminal charges because of the lads that ran onto the pitch. They could and possibly will be charged, they will even use video evidence, and guess what they will have little or no defence. Is there a difference..err No and like i said when the next game comes around he will be in the media appealing for calm.Hypocrite !!!!!!!! |

I can't believe O'leary is getting away with it, and as for Jester, just stop and think for a minute before you accuse us of over reacting, how do you think it would have gone down at vile park if Steve Bruce had gone gallping over the pitch towards the holt end at the end of one of our 2 VICTORIES at your place, shaking his fists in victory, supposedly toward our directors!! do you think the FA would have been so forgiving? I think not, and before you say it I do know there are no directors boxes in the holt end but I dont know the names of any other stands at your s**t hole. |

If Blues had won, and someone legged it from the kop, across the pitch, waving at his mate in the main stand, when O'Leary was walking from the dugout, what would have happened ? |

how can that be good, he deliberatly went to side where blues fans were a made silly gesture to crowd, immature at best, down right irresponsible, the blues fans were fine, after all u deserve on win in 7 matches bless. It was like a cup final to u kids..... i guess 23 yrs of hurt over, now just a new owner, new manager, more debt, and more pain. U have 3 pts more than us, we feel in crisis, u feel that u r champions, how expectations change |

Agreed. This charge relates to an aston villa manager and what he said to a referee. This issue doesn't concern BCFC anymore, lets move the thread and starting thinking about saturday. |

I wouldn`t have liked to see him charged, nor would i like to see Blues pursue getting him charged. The geezer has took a ot of stick the last few years and what you saw was an outburst of alot of pent up emotion built up over a long time. Was it a clever thing to do?No.Is it really that bad or important?also no.But if he wants to go get himself fined for insulting the ref thts fine by me ;) |
