I think it would have been harsh if he was charged with anything. The game meant nothing to him " it's just another game " perhaps he should be charged with telling porkies :D

Many managers have ran on the pitch at the end of a game without being charged so i dont see why o dreary should be treated any differently.

criminal charge? thats abit extreme isnt it. i must say i agree with sullivans comments (i cant believe im agreeing with him) that its a shame passion cant be shown in these games without afew getting it the wrong way. why does everything thesedays have to relate to violence <_<

it could of caused a riot. that is a criminal offence.

as the poor lad who whent to prisen for being over excited would agree.

or does'nt that count as o'dreay is a manager and not a poor little supporter. ;)

well stated, same "excuse", excited for winning first game for ages, and one goes to prison and a life ban, one says "my chairman was pleased" and gets let off, double standards

Spot on.

We should give him dog's abuse when we beat them next year.

What i want to know is if this game was as unimportant to him as he said, why did he need to run across the pitch to celebrate. surely the shock of winning a game against blues could have been fatal for dear old mr Ellis.

it's quite simple realy willie.

o'dreary has confirmed that we are the biggest team in the midlands(as we all know).

you dont see fergy doing that when they beat citeh

you dont see morinho doing that when they beat the 4rs

you dont see arsen do that when they beat toterham.

the only managers that do this is when they beat there bigger rivals.

;) :D

Your right, but if he was just acting out of jubilation for his chairman. why is he facing a charge by the FA for foul and abusive language, and what went on between him and Dunn ??

Butt was fined £8k for his outburst against pompey. as O'dreary is a manager and should have more self control i reckon he should be looking at a touchline ban and a hefty fine.

I wouldn`t have liked to see him charged, nor would i like to see Blues pursue getting him charged. The geezer has took a ot of stick the last few years and what you saw was an outburst of alot of pent up emotion built up over a long time.

Was it a clever thing to do?No.Is it really that bad or important?also no.But if he wants to go get himself fined for insulting the ref thts fine by me ;)

well said :)

i was told by a stuward at the game that he swore at poll and called dunn a cheat also called a steward a f-ing DIY sort of person.

if o'leary has done so wrong why does sullivan, yes sullivan say its a shame he cant do that? i bet you martin jol would do that, if they beat arsenal. its funny i seem to recall bruce running across the touchline like a child last season at villa park. hmm that wound the villa fans up but did you see us blow that out of proportion?

i cant see what is wrong with showing abit of passion? and what about when mourinho did that finger gesture against liverpoo last season? that was worse wasnt it?

key word here is run along the touch line.

not run the width of the field in front of home supporters and abuse match officials and stewards

it could of caused serious trouble. if sb did anything similar your fans would of ran riot.

dont denigh it remember the thugs all hooded and the prat that ran on offerering out all the little players of blues?

mmmmmmmm what punishment did he get er sweet FA.

double standards jester.

PS: how do you know jol would do this ? but your probabnly right he would seeing as toterham ar'nt as big the 4rs ;)

villa fans are hooligans then? OK if this is the case why have villa fans never been in trouble with the FA apart from that one game? may i remind you that fellow who slapped enks in the face and all them other idiots running on the pitch during the game. any person who runs on the pitch during a match villa fan or blose fan should be banned for life. its unacceptable.

when bruce did on the touchline that was still close to villa fans, it made us angry but did you see us moaning about it? we got on with it and accepted we lost that game. not blown this thing way out of proportion.

u cannot pretend that o'leary was not childish in his celebration of winning 1 game in 7 against the kings of birmingham, his pretence that this was for ellis was weak and dishonest. He should have set an example, but didn't. Big victory for villa, bless them, first league victory over blues for 28 yrs, i guess it was ur season high, and biggest victory this century, so we should excuse ur manager.

He was irresponsible, and should be punished harshly, a large fine to discourage him from doing it elsewhere.

a play full slap (not that i think it was ok) was in the heat of excitment and drink not an attack on him.

your fans attacked familys out side the ground before and after the game a mate of mine was dragged off the street by police put in a van and had to hide in a police station his 9 year old at the time was punched in the face by a 20 year old bloke.

so thay ar'nt hooligans? i know some of our fans have hardly been saints but you dont here of them punching young kids.

Dr nick your wasting your time mate, they are never do anything wrong in fact perfect little angels. or so they would have you believe. cast your mind back to the 1st season we were promoted who's fans was it that were seen by millions of sky viewers with their burberry scarves and hats pulled down to hide their faces trying to get to the blues fans..............

Their arrogance has no limits i'm afraid. so its easy for em to blame us for all the trouble.

A neighbour of mine is a vile fan and he was telling me about what happend to his father in law at that game, His wife and all her family are Bluenoses so as a family they went to the game he left his wife and father in law to go with the blues fans while he went on the holte with his mates and they arranged to meet at the car after the game.

his wife and father in law were walking back to the car after the game when a big brave vile fan smashed him in the face with a sock filled with sand or something similar. painful enough but when you add in he was wearing glasses. his wifes coat was slashed with a knife and passers by spat at them. while he laying bleeding on the floor. Nice people..........NOT.

As you are so keen on history, remind yourself of your finest hour - the European Cup final when vile fans went on the rampage in Rotterdam, and had to play the first game of their defence behind closed doors.

What about the last game of the season 1993-94 away at Southampton when the sending off of the vile goalie caused a pitch invasion by vile fans in fancy dress, led by Hitler and a parrot, when they broke the crossbar.

Let's be honest, all clubs have their fair share of hooligans.
