was chatting on another forum about refs and their linesmen or women,
the jist of the debate was that refs need to start trusting their assistants a bit more,
it seems refs have to make all the decisions ,why is that ,why then have 2 assistants and a fourth official, does it appear that ref has to be THE MAIN MAN on the pitch,i used to ref and i always told the people running the line if you think i missed something ,THEN FLAG ME,then we discuss it ,it seems a very sensible way ,would love to hear your views on this one.

Agree with you 100%. Half the time it seems that the assistants are only there to signal the way the ref decides a throw or whatever should go. Perhaps its got something to do with the fact that the assistants can't keep up half the time

Seriously, I'm in favour of having a set of officials for each half of the pitch.

Ask BUTT!

The more officials you have the more problems you'll get. There'll be a committee next fgs.

If the ref can't see he should ask,if the line thinks the ref didn't see,he should flag.
They should swap sides though 2nd half. And run whole line!!
