I must say that this game was one of the best England performances I've seen. Everyone seemed to be working together for once and I just hope that they maintain that through the World Cup. Still don't think Crouch should be in the squad though - only on the pitch for a short time and fell over his feet numerous times! Vic B) |

Agreed. Fantastic performance - especially as it was against Argentina who are a very good team. I really hope they build on that now ready for the World Cup. And I agree with you - Crouch should not be in the side! My son is over there - I sent him a suitably worded text regarding the Argies as soon as the match finished. :D Mo x |

Fantastic game. Agree about Crouch - Paul Robinson has more chance of scoring ! ;) |

Great game and a great comeback for England :) Rooney's goal was superb and the performance in the second half was excellent. Keep this up England! |

i can't believe how i've been bangig on about hobbits up front for months and would you believe that Bilbo Baggins himself pops up and grabs two headers! Unbelievable. Best England game i've seen for a while. Normally with the England games i drift off and end up doing something else whilst it's on but this was the first friendly that i actually enjoyed watching! |

In all fairness it was one of Bridge's first appearances after a very long injury lay off, and as Alan Shearer said Sven Gonad wouldn't have played him had it been a qualifier! It was decided before ko he'd only play a half anyway. I think when he's back to full fitness (he's in the same position as Dunny really if you think about it) he'd be welcome anywhere! Vic B) |

Fantastic game. We looked like we wanted it. We looked hungry and eager to prove a point. We've got one of the best strike partnerships in the world and with Gerrard on song, we have a chance next year. We're nowhere near favourites but we have a chance. Don't tell me that we can't spring a surprise like Germany in '02. |

to be far to crouch, he had a part in the 3rd goal. lets hope the press dont add the pressure on rooney as they usually do on england players. |

As Rooney and Owen have said Crouch created space for Owen as he took the defenders off him. Did non of you notice that the Argentina CB's looked more concerned with Crouch when he came on? Certainly not the most pleasant player on the eye, but he certainly had a direct influence on the last 10 minutes. Crouch will be in the england squad for Germany no doubt. Open your eyes people. |

I think this is a pretty fair assessment. Crough causes problems to defenders and leaves Owen with more time and space on the ball. I was a little concerned though whe Crouch and Owen seemed to be getting in each others way in the air when the ball was crossed. Crouch will be in the World Cup squad and he gives us another dimension to the strike force. |

maybe it's not a bad thing that Crouch is 'possibly' as bad as people think he is. If he was any good he may of got to either Gerrard's or Cole's balls. As it was he just took the CB out of the game and left Owen with time and space to do what he does best. Score. It still amazes me that Owen ended up at Newcastle. He is one of the best strikers around and the likes of Man U / Liverpool / Arsenal still did not go for him. £16m (or whatever it was) was a steal for a 25 year old with his goal scoring record and considering the likes of Drogba cost £28m! |

The worrying thing for me is the way Crouch almost took Owen out of the game as the ball came across for Owen's first goal. It appeared as if Crouch was challenging Owen. Thank God Owen stood his ground and let crouch fall in a heap on top of the defender. It seems increasingly important for some players to have an effect off the ball. Clinton Morrison acheved a lot for us without scoring loads of goals. Both Forssell and Heskey have said that without Morrison they would not have scored so many goals. Maybe the same goes for crouch. He might not score loads of goals for England but his influence on the game will make it possible for others to score just like Owen did on Saturday. As long as a player have a positive influence for my team I will support them. |
