Bookmakers William Hill have shortened the price of David O'Leary becoming the second Premiership manager to be sacked from 11/4 to 2/1 after Aston Villa crashed out of the Carling Cup. Mick McCarthy is the 3/1 second favourite followed by Steve Bruce who is offered at 5/1. "After such a bad result we would have expected a real run of cash for O'Leary but the market has been relatively quiet. Possibly because there are at least five Premiership managers in an equally precarious position", said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams. William Hill Next Premiership Manager To Go - 2/1 David O' Leary, 3/1 Mick Mc Carthy, 5/1 Steve Bruce, 13/2 No Manager To Leave During 05/06 Season, 15/2 Alan Curbishley, 16/1 Graeme Souness, 16/1 Bryan Robson, 20/1 Sir Alex Ferguson, 20/1 David Moyes, 20/1Chris Coleman, 25/1 next permanent Portsmouth Manager, 40/1 Rafa Benitez, 50/1 Steve Mc Claren, 50/1 Mark Hughes, 50/1 Alan Pardew, 66/1 Stuart Pearce, 66/1 Sam Allardyce, 66/1 Paul Jewell, 66/1 Martin Jol, 66/1 Arsene Wenger, 100/1 Jose Mourinho. |

Awwww damn i thought this was going to be about a charity `sack race` as in the old school sports day styleee.I`d have gone for Souness losing his temper with the sack kicking his legs through it and running to the finish line. |

That's good odds on The SOURPUSS Newcastle play Vile this weekend and I'm predicting the losing manager from this clash of 'Famous Clubs from the RMS Titanic Era' will be in the dole queue on Monday That's if Mick Maccarty ain't there first |

Yeah, ironically the game ended up in a draw It probabaly gives O Leary a stay of execution, especially as Vile should have really won......I now expect Sourpuss to walk in the next week or so...... The Geordie Faithful have all had enough of him it seems and they have enough in numbers to usually force change.....all depends on how much ' Fat Freddie' has left in the bank for a 'pay off' Knowing Souness he would have had a hefty settlement written into his contract |

Now thats a bet that interests me! 10/1 is pretty good odds. I might stick a tenner on that one! As for the sack race - i think we all have a fair idea that Souness will be next. I doubt bruce will be sacked this season as the board have already given him their unconditional support. |
