Helles Belles? ;)

Does it annoy you that your club is more famous for Helen Chamerberlain than for anything you've ever achieved (ha-ha!) on the football pitch?

Oh, and speaking of Torquay, what's your best supporters messageboard? I tried to log-on to your official one but it appears to be like your team - down ;)

Any help on that would be greatly appreciated since I'm after a Gulls fan to do a small article for me.

Hi Blues Fans!

Just a quick hello from the south coast. Well, we're well chuffed at getting the Blues in the FA Cup. Okay, so we could've done with the money from a game at your ground, but what the heck! :o)

As a few of you have said, getting to the ground from the train station is a bit of a bind but a pleasant walk along the prom followed by a wander up through the main shopping street ain't too hard. I must admit that Plainmoor is situated about 1,000 ft up on top of a hill above the town but, as some have already pointed out, there are quite a few pubs around the ground to wet your whistle once your up. I trust our catering has improved since you were last here, though don't hold your breath on that one. Mind, there's a string of shops nearby that'll see you right.

We wonder whether you'll be given our home ''pop(ular) side' (we don't have a home end as such as one end is a seated family stand and the other is normally for away supporters). This is what happened last time we met and, at least, it gives you the chance to get a few more fans in - maybe up to 2,000 or so?? Of course there'll be some seats in the grandstand as well but, for the majority of you, it'll be back to the old days of terracing!

So, here's looking forward to the game. Both are teams need a half decent Christmas/New year before then though. As some of you have remarked, what we lack for in skill we might make up for in determination. Who knows?

Regards

TorquayFan

good luck, and i agree determination could do it for you, as our team have lacked that almost all season. Should be a good game. **thumbup

BTW, Helles Belles is a real fan, not just a celebrity supporter. I've seen her at a few games on the terraces, queueing up at the turnstiles and waiting in line for a half time cuppa. She's not averse to a hug when we score too! :P

Dave, it's sad to say but you're probably right. And I expect the MOTD cameras will be there to record it!

There probably isn't a better time for us to be playing you seeing as you're on a downer at the moment but I can't see you having too many problems against us.

I'm hoping we fluke a draw and then get a decent payday at St.Andrews.

On the subject of Helles Belles, she's all for hugging fellow fans if we score. I can vouch for that as I held on possibly too long in Chester one night in 1998........................happy days.

Anybody coming by train make sure you come in plenty of time as it's a fair hike to the ground and there are loads of pubs on the way so leave yourself plenty of time!

With the greatest of respect intended, I hope your poor form continues until mid January and then I hope you start climbing the table.

Mind, not a bad fightback last night. 3-1 down with 10 mins to go, finish 3-3!

Showing some real guts and determination for a change.
