Like most, I have played a and watching the games this year here is my positive view.

So Steve take a stress break !"£$ down with a large Newcastle Brown and read.

1: The worst thing to defend against is not scoring yourself.

2: We have JG & JP on the wings two of the fastest wingers in the league and we insist on walking the ball to them. Give it early or make em run and give it in there stride.

3: Heskey without someone on his wavelength makes us a hooffing team, just get pandiani or forsell to practice receiving flick ons or chest downs and work with him.

4: The Goalkeeper and defenders are fine so keep the wingers away (stan, DJ etc) if you have no back em..............get someone.

5: Gold rings...................sorry, time of year

6:Teams are defending us by letting our back line have the ball, this allows them to get back in position so when we go forward there is no obvious outlet. Attack from the back and everyone go forward together...............watch Chelsea and Arsenal.

7: Its a good team..............let them play. Movement and options are always dangerous.

8: Remember flicks and twists change games, when you can control the ball....Julian Gray and Pandiani are fantastic players let them show there stuff, support them and cheer like never before when they have the ball. Trust me you will see there best. Tell Pandi to shoot from 50 yds thats his game.

9. We used to make the travelling team hate us.............why change ?

10. and finally I was there when DC's pen went in..........I pinched myself, looked around and grabbed the first person I saw, I will never forget that Blond with bit hooters............we are in the Premiership, shout, scream and get behind every friggin tackle you ungrateful sorry complacent, shallow, fickle........................temporary. Sorry getting negative.

I love this team......I beleive (Robson & Jerome)...........

Keep right on..............drugs have now kicked in.

I HERE WHAT YOU SAY, BOTTOM LINE IS STEVE BRUCE HAS RAN OUT IDEAS, I THINK THAT PRESSURE IS NOW SHOWING, AND ONCE YOU ARE UNDER THAT PRESSURE YOU START TO TRY TOO MANY THINGS, AND THE PLAYERS ARRENT STUPID , I DONT THINK ALOT OF THEM ARE HAPPY, WE HAVENT HAD A LEADER OUT ON THE PITCH SINCE SAVAGE WAS THERE, SORRY KENNY BUT YOU DONT CUT IT ANY MORE, WHY NOT BRING IN PAINTER, DROP UPSON FOR A GAME , ATLEAST THE KID WILL HAVE AGO, KILLKENNY SHOULD BE A STARTER SO SHOULD JAROSIK AND PANDIANI, WITH HESKEY UP FRONT, AND FOR CHRIST SAKE LET LAZRIDAS TAKE THE CORNERS NOT PENNETT , HAVE YOU NOTICED WHEN PENNETT KNOCKS THE BALL ON from CROSSES OUT SIDE THE BOX, HES NOT EVEN LOOKING, HESKEY JUST STANDS THERE, THINkn whats that.
theres so many, things not happening aswell as the negativity even black and bruce write on there post game plan on this site, they always seem to come up with , this team will be hard to beat, it will be difficult, look at the psycology lads , the mind set this is not postive talk, who cares about showing respect for other teams and there manangement, we go out there to win, shake there hands after the game thanks for playing **** off, so to speak, i wonder what bruce does to get them fired up, just a little pep talk i wonder, while balck goes round with the tea and biscuits maybe , lol.

CMON LADS WAKE UP wtf**

In my humble opinion, here is what is wrong.....

We get an injury, we make a substitution which involves changing more than one player's position.......unnecessary disruption??????

Upson & Cunningham, one of the best central defence partnerships........so one plays at left-back, then the other goes to right-back?????????

One striker at home when we desperately need the win????

I agree entirely with this.

The substitutions amaze me at times. Izett, an attacking midfielder, get sinjured and we have Kilkenny, Jarosik and Butt on the bench. Logic would say that Kilkenny or JJ should take his place but no we bring on another defensive player in Butt. The Butt/DJ central midfield pairing will never create anything.

It is no coincidence to me that we played out best football of the season at Newcastle when we have a midfield made up of 5 attacking players. If you are going to play a 4-5-1 formation then there can not be more than 1 defensive midfielder in there otherwise it automatically becomes a defensive line up.

As for not having another striker on the bench that is beyong belief. Heskey was only just passes fit and if he picked up an injury we would have been stuffed. lack of planning.

SPOT ON.............and StAndrews i totally agree with the substitution issue

Butt would not have been my immediate choice as his replacement either!!!!

We now have a Quorum of fans on this Forum (A Quorum on this Forum? Blimey I've become poetic.....)....
Anyway....
People who know what they are talking about....
We have a concensus of opinion.....
Admin....
I sense a meeting needs to be called.....
There are a Group of us who KNOW what is wrong and KNOW how to put it right!
These people are not egotists or megalomaniacs they are honest Bluenoses....
I am suggesting a meeting between six of us (and I know who the six should be, because it is so obvious) and Brucie....
Initially it would be a structured discussion with the intention of eventually all six becoming a mentoring Team to work with Brucie before and after every game and they would be expected to maintain confidentiality!
After all we all want the same success for our Team....
And before the professionals read this and start laughing....
Look at the results....!

Maybe a good call, however not many of the fans have got years of champoins league / european / premier league football and coaching experience have they?

Bruce has played at every level and has been coached by the best, i say lets leave the management side of things to him? I have faith **thumbup

WAIT!!!!! dont think i'm havin a dig here Bluebird, but have you ever heard of the expression "ONE MANS POISON IS ANOTHER MANS MEDICINE"?

what i'm trying to say is that even though you maybe right about whats wrong with our beloved club (and i do agree with 90% of the posts on here)...there maybe be people out there who totally disagree with what you are sayin.....are you really prepared to choose 6 people who you agree debate this!!! rather than let the manager and his assistants do the job they are bein paid for......after all if they dont get results they will be out, but if you and 6 others have in put...are you prepared to take the flak?????

What? And have all you lot criticise my Team :P
There are certain people on this Forum that I have really come to like and respect....
And they never let me down....
But do you know one thing that's missing off this Forum right now Proccy?
The smiley of the "fisherman".... :D

however not many of the fans have got years of champoins league / european / premier league football and coaching experience have they?
I wouldn't think any of the fans have got that....
But as I said: "Before the professionals read this and start laughing, look at the results!"

Incidentally bluebirdy....
Sadly I haven't heard of the expression: "ONE MANS POISON IS ANOTHER MANS MEDICINE"?
I have heard of: "One man's meat is another man's poison"....
And Yes! I would be prepared to take any flak because I am prepared to discuss the rationale of the way the game is approached and played....
There will definitely be people out there who disagree with what I am saying, just look at the response to this suggestion alone....
But do we all agree with the current approach?
Is it working?
The first sign of failure is to continue doing the same thing and expect a different result....
Something has to change and right now SB and his Team do not have a clue!
I sense from the responses of certain posters on this Forum that there is a growing belief of what is required....
And their input comes from years of watching and analysing the game from the perspective of wanting their Team to win, not just wanting to get paid for doing a job and moving on to the next Management position!
Just read some (not all) of the points raised on this thread alone by Gaz65, Footy Sue, St Andy's, Mr Blue, blue birdy, et al....
I would normally have to include Proccy here but he ain't said much yet on this topic (for a change) :P

Summarising.....
You / We would expect that by paying the professionals / experts millions of pounds a year that they would be able to solve any problems and deliver....
The truth / reality is that they are NOT delivering!
To repeat: The first sign of failure is to continue doing the same thing and expect a different result!
Providing a solution to a problem is not the exclusive right and privilege of those in charge....
Some times the most obvious solution is not obvious to the professionals but it is obvious to those at ground floor face level....
This happens in industry and commerce every single day!
Just look at the points that gaz has raised....
Can you imagine any of those being considered at the training ground?

Neither of them are ready for the premier league but it would be better to have one of them on the bench.

What would have happened if Heskey got injured?

Dunn and Jarosik up front just wouldnt cut it. Mind you at least Jiri would stand a chance of getting his head on the end of some of the hoofs up field.
