why oh why do we want a player that is no good in the prem?

yeah he might be fast but what good is that if he cant finnish.?

8 prem goals all season from open play does'nt make a prem player.

no better than what we had last season in mozza .

i know TFmight be available he might be over 50 but i'm sure he'd score just as many.

I'm surprised you said that he can't finish. I know a lot of his goals were pens, but surely he produced a lot of cool finishes last season? If you wanted one player who was capable of turning round our season, Aj would be high on your list IMO.

Unfortunately, he will be too expensive and probably would have misgivings about going back to SB, as Crusto and the Bear said. So that's that then . . .

AJ wouldn't fit in with the way we play. Palace last season only had one tactic and only scored goals through one avenue. They'd stick as many men behind the ball as they could and hit teams on the break with the sheer pace and trickery of AJ and Routledge. They can't do that in Division One and that's why they're struggling.

AJ - Good player in the right team. Will get goals. But we're not the right team to maximize his strengths. I wouldn't pay £5m+ for a player who just wouldn't fit in with the way we play.

8 in 38 games  if you call that alot i can understand why some thought that stern john and mozza were good.

sorry to be a little disrespectfull i realy dont mean to be it's just that i cant understand whyanyone would want the cheating little toe rag back.

we need someone who can finnish we have to spend the money and get someone who can score 15+ every season.

i know that will be very very in fact neer on imposible now but we should of done this in the season up i dont think we would be in this position now if we did.

totally correct Aff , thats why they were relagated even with the 14 pens given to them.

that in itself has to be a record.

ok you make some good points mark , now lets turn it on it's head from a buisness point of view.

SB is no longer the draw he was, our position in the league,

and our points total from our games so far.

if they spend big and we fail we could end up like leeds, i dont think any of us wants that.

we are on a downward spiral and have been for the 19 months.

the wise thing to do is hold on to the purse strings and see what happens and what league we are in.

we will spend in jan but it will be on to players a centre back and a 4th forth forward.

but we need a four striker and a LB in jan and I'd spend money but not massive amounts so we can avoid the drop,

You make valid points dr nick, and if I had read this in the summer I would have agreed with you 100%. In our present situation, what we NEED is a cheating toerag who gets more than one penalty a season and also knows where the goal is. I can't imagine there will be many 15 goal strikers queueing up in January. This is all hypothetical anyway, but if Palace were selling him for 2 mill, I would go for it!!!

As for "we should have got someone in the summer", I couldn't agree with you more.

i do agree but i just cant see whos available that will make a differece.

we can all say names who we would like and who we think would come but we are now in the prem and anyone decent will want serious money to come to us.

i cant see the board doing that.

The point is we need a striker with pace.

The 3 we have are all pedestrian by AJ's standards.....I don't agree with you Aff that AJ wouldn't fit in.....I was watching Heskey win every header against WHU, a nippy striker alongside him would be able to get onto the end of them.

I would like to see AJ come, but that aint gonna happen. Jordan would demand far too much for him.

A realistic target is Robbie Keane.

Other than that, lets all pray that when Forssell returns he hits the ground running.

Good call mate.....certainly can't be any WORSE than Pandiani can he ???

As for AJ...he is going to West Ham....who,in all honesty, can have him

Good penalty taker in the PL but goals from open play ??...there weren't many were there ????

And people are forgetting he was with Blues for years before he moved to Palace....didn't set the world on fire then did he ?? Get real,folks.....Johnson is top half Championship player at best

We need a striker with pace but i dont think AJ will be coming back to us. Palace will be looking for at least £7mil for him and i dont think they would sell to us either.

More realistic targets are Camron Jerome of Cardiff or Rob Earnshaw of WBA.

Fryatt is a good player but over half of his goals this season have been penalties as well.

Whats all the fuss? He's not that good! No way would we pay, over £4mil for a player in our current situation.
