Some of the stuff I read on here just amazes me.

"odd decent game"

This season whenever he's had to come in he's played well, actually excelling on a few occasions.

They were probably too busy with their mouths wide open slagging off their team to notice any decent play jp! ;)

You're entitled to your opinion.

Did you come up with this statement on your own or did you he hear it banded around the playground?

no i thought he did fine and has done well in the last few weeks.

like all players, he's benefitting from playing games at the level he's expected to perform at.... imo he's got better every game, and is at least as effective as upson and cunningham - at least he can pass a ball to feet, and move for a return. yes, he aint gonna win the 100 metres, but he's better than you think. i now see what sb saw in him, and what we saw when he played fror welshburn.. ;)

he looks like one of those players who is likely to make a disastrous mistake, and i had my doubts about him ,but fair play he is doing well and is at least as good as our other centre backs at the moment.

Another time perhaps?

He's another one in the 'Julian Gray' mode..........his body language suggests he really doesn't care half the time and looks very slow to me
For one of the tallest centre backs in the League he can barely get off the ground

Only cost 1.2 million from Blackburn who laughed all the way to the bank...nuff said

Sorry, don't rate him........don't rate Melchiot either and Tebily is another total liabilty as well.......Clapham works hard (well he bloody well has to with Gray in front of him, right ?) and probably feels sore being left out of this team...talk about a reality check......

Defensively we are an extremely POOR side and it has bitten us in the backside ALL this season

There was NOTHING wrong with the Upson/Cunningham partnership but I must admit Kenny C is feeling the pace these days despite a marvellous reading of the game (I hope he stays longer, great sqaud player and model pro )....we need Scharner and we need TWO quality full backs....look at ALL of the goals we have conceded this season and you will see why ....Maik Taylor guilty too but I wouldn't put it all down to him (keep faith with Nico for now, doing very well).....

Oh but Upson's suicidal pass to a west ham player for the other goal was ok cos it was upson?? taylor didn't do a lot wrong the other night or any worse than 70% of the to55ers who are pulling on a Blue shirt at the moment :o

Agreed.

Considering he hasnt played on a regualr basis for the last 2 years he has done pretty well.

He passes the ball out of defence better than Upson or Kenny. I think given time he will improve.

I would still like Oji to be the long term replacement for Kenny though. He plays the ball well out of defence and is deceiptively quick given his size and strength.

Good point salad and yes,Upson makes mistakes too,I agree totally....all players do
And he should have buried that chance of making it 2-2 as well....even for a defender NO player should have missed that sitter
I remember one comical error by Upson at Middlesboro which cost us a goal too in a 5-3 defeat....I mean we finally score THREE away from home and still LOSE

At the same time though Upson has generally been very good since he signed for us and forced himself on to the fringe of the England sqaud....you don't achieve that by being cr@p most of all of the time....I've seen too many poor performances from Martin Taylor to really change my opinion....as always, just opinion
