Bruce admits cash concerns. Steve Bruce has admitted he is concerned that he may not be handed any transfer funds unless he can halt Birmingham City's slide down the Premiership table. The Blues boss is well aware that his board would not look favourably upon a request to make more cash available if his side are staring into the abyss come the New Year. "I am sure the amount of funds we have will be determined by the position we find ourselves in at the end of the year," he confessed. "We have got to be sensible. If we are among the pack and not adrift from the safety zone then I know the owners will give me some help. "But if we were adrift by 10 points and cast aside, having lost the next few games then you've got to look at the situation and say, 'Hang on a minute, we've got to be sensible'. "The big thing is you are not going to undo all the bad work by chasing something that may already be a lost cause." Birmingham have spent £15 million over the previous 18 months and currently languish just inside the Premiership's bottom three despite beating Fulham on Saturday. |

2 top players are needed to get us out of this mess, a top central defender and a pacey striker. Spend the money and get Scharner & AJ and i think we would start picking up a lot more points. If only we had a pacy striker to feed off Heskey's knockdowns we'd be score so many more goals. On saturday against fulham it was painful at times to watch Heskey constantly winning headers and flicks ons only for the ball to drift into no-mans land. Nicky Butt made a supporting run eventually and we scored one the most vital goals we ever will but we should have another striker constantly making those sort of runs. |

Don't need a centre back until the summer. So i'd say a pacy 4th striker (like Cameron Jerome) 1 Million AND A full back who can prefebly can play both sides (I'd say Jagielka but he won't leave unless Sheff Utd don't get promoted this season) |

hold on aint the board got 1 billion between em,come on this is a tax loss to that amount of dough,or are we being misled about the true revenue of the club,ie is the tap fully open or is there a leak somewhere. you got to imagine what this club must be worth globally i dont mean chinese people with blues tops on brummies all over the world buy into this club. question does anybody have an accurate count of shirt sales world wide my company has spent money advertising with them, the car parks allways full week days, buissiness partners.fly be ,black and white, mbna, and those elongated ticket sales lines |

15 million in 18 months how much have we recouped savage 3.1 million carter 2 million clingon 2 million blake 800k gronkjaer 1.6 million benno free yorke free anderton free so we sold a good 10 million in players and offloaded the odd million in wages the club have made a profit this year with tv revenue / gate receitps / club merchandise / premiership and the 15 million is a figure based over the next few yrs, the majority of the signings had installments based on appearances and clauses to put it bluntly we could of been more adventurous in the transfer market we should of brought aj back full stop !! |

You can understand the cash problems he faces, but equally its not going to be easy signing players on permanent deals in the transfer window. Its seems highly unlikey we will be out of the bottom three unless we find some seriously good form in the next four games. Our position in the table will be a key factor on signings, both financially and attraction to players too. Hence loan signings will be our only hope in terms of quality players I'd let Jarosik go back to Chelski Bag Kieran Richardson from Man Utd for left midfield on loan... Sign either Cameron Jerome, Leroy Lita, or AJ permanent, and bring in another loan signing up front the likes of Saha (Man Utd) or Earnshaw (Baggies)..... |

They had 1 billion between them when we were in the championship and it took about about ten years to find the bottle to give TF £2m to invest in a decent striker ( Horsefield ) so dont hold your breathe Brucie |

Well Sullivan did warn us a few weeks ago that unless we make some progress up the table then funds will not be made available. We need a 4th striker - ideally someone like Jerome of Cardiff or Earnshaw of West Brom. We also need a left back. Painter did pretty well but it is not his natural position and he is wasted there. As a centre back he is immense. |

In the summer (after avoiding relegation) we will need Left back Left Wing (Stan and Gray will be allowed to leave I think) Right back, 4th striker (if we haven't already got one) A centre back (if Kenny is no longer up to it, he's been great in recent games though) Next Month we will need.. A 4th Striker, and a fullback that can play both sides (someone like Jon O'shea, but not him as Man Yoo wouldn't let him go IMO) |

You forgot to add that we need a leader of men on the pitch - no matter what the position, someone of this ilk would of earned us a couple of more points this season and its something that has been missimg for some time imo |

just because they are worth £1bn between them does not mean they have to throw money at the problem. we may all be worth £100k- £500k each, depending on your age and property value, but does that mean that you are going to throw some of your "worth" at blues. they are probably 10,000 times better off than me, so them spending say £10million at this is same as me throwing £1k into the pot, which i am not going to do. Their input was financial, and continues to be financial guarantees, they are not going to jepodise the future financial stability of the club to go for quick fix exposure. The club is almost self sufficient, and could survive without them, and that is UNIQUE! i would be more worried if we are 10 pts adrift and go and spend £20m in players, increasing the wage bill in excess of a championships team annual turnover.. that would be financial madness... |

Someone said a pacey striker for heskeys knockdowns, what knock downs as he lose 75 per cent of areial challenges these days but we need fresh blood and I think it will be Loan signings. We can not send Jari back unless he gets an injury so lets make use of him, hes the only one who shoots at goal. |

I think you need to check again, or buy better glasses, because Heskey wins the majority of aerial challenges and lays the ball off well with his head. |

Simple, Jerome or Earnshaw! Or similar a fast forward. A defender. They won't break the bank if we were to go down. They'll provide us with a spark and hopefully help our cause. Without them, it'll be god damn hard to stay up! |

What on Earth has the personal fortunes of our board got to do with BCFC the business? Let's just say the board give Bruce £35 million next summer to spend on transfer fees. How on Earth is the club going to afford to pay the salaries of such players? I would rather have a board that does exactly what ours does and have a club that is healthy, thriving and in profit. Yet again I will urge people too look at Leeds United, Bradford City and other clubs where the board spent money on players the football club could not sustain. Where are they now? They died chasing the impossible dream. So Leeds played Champions League football, where are they now? I would rather have run of the mill Premiership football for ever than 1 maybe 2 seasons of all out chaos then a future of penny pinching, debt, uncertainty, relegation and Championship football to look forward to. The grass might look greener on the other side of the fence but there is she ite in every field. Ask Peter Ridsdale. He chased the dream to keep unrealistic fans happy, he isn't so popular now is he. |

I think some would argue that the uncertainty is here, and the relegation and Championship football is fast approaching, and that both could have been avoided with a little more financial backing from the Board. Personally, I think that strengthening in key areas, and we all know where they are, would have been a wise move and one that wouldn't have bankrupted the club. I feel that there has been some negligence that is now being punished. That being said, I think there are reasons other than financial that are also hindering our progression. Premiership football forever? Dont hold your breath. |

IMHO The board got it wrong this sumemr when our primary aim was to secure our loan signings onpermanent deals. This had the same effect as not strengthening the squad at all as they had already been here for 6 months. I fear the same situation next summer. Yes, making loan signings permanent does eat a chunk of transfer money but new signings in the summer are far more important. With a bit of luck, our board will have realised that their policy this summer has done as much for our league position as conceding silly goals has. |

Was it the boards decision to sign the on loan players ? of course it was not. it was SB's he chooses the players and KB does the negotiating. |

Two more obvious choices couldn't be clearer. We are so desperate for someone with pace up front, he even put Pennant up there when he first came on against Fulham. So, a quick striker, or someone of that ilk. For me, Robbie Keane. Left back has been a major problem for us over the last couple of seasons, and whilst Clapham is all heart, and a true pro, he isn't the long term solution. Painter did a job for us the other day, but as someone else has said, he's more suited to centre half. |

I don't think Bruce should get any more money. The problem is not the calibre of players we have, it's the performances and organisation. Bruce should either learn how to coach, learn how to recruit a coach, or quit. |
