Quite an uninspiring draw overall,no games jump off the page at ya.

As far as us goes,i`ve never wanted us to lose a single game nor have i ever wanted us to exit a competition,if we play a weakened squad and go down fighting then fair enough but surely not wanting us to get knocked out.

Seeing as the thread has turned into a Q & A session i have this one,Should we get beat by Torquay/Reading/WBA as some of us appear to want will those same people be coming on here to praise Bruce for purposely losing or will they be coming on here shouting for his head `sack him, disgusting losing to League one/Championship side, embarrassing, worst manager ever`???

I think we all know the answer to that one.

Trev if he plays a complete b side and fields a side with little or no first teamers so as to save them for the relegation battle we have looming then i would praise his common sense and judging by whats been written by many id say he wouldnt get much flak.

If he went out intent to win with our first team and lost then thats a different story.

I completely agree with this but as far as the people on here praising him for his common sense no way. They`d be all over him like a rash i gaurantee it,its a no win situation for him unfortunatly, play the first team & win - slated for using vital players in the cup when relegation is a real prospect in the league - sack him.Play youth/reserves - lose, get slated for losing to an `inferior` side - sack him.

i would prefer to play West Brom than Reading as i am only down the road from Reading. I think that we could beat West Brom but maybe not Reading as they are high fliying in the championship.

The fa cups lost its magic then... You would all bar a few exceptions want to get knocked out of the cup. My priority is staying up of course which i believe we will do, but we dont have 2 get knocked out of the cup to stay up , it will be around 5 extra games. The money that our players get they should want 5 more games.

Well close, and if you know me on msn i fear for blues playing reading, if we cant beat tourquay this match will be tough. They have some brilliant players.

The fans have been brainwashed.

The clubs don't care about the cup because they make more money from the Premiership. The players don't care about the cup because they make more money from the Premiership. So it suits their interests to say "the FA cup has lost it's magic" or "it's a distraction from our real priorities (i.e. making money)".

So we focus on staying in the Premiership in order to, erm, stay in the Premiership. No chance of ever winning it. No glory. No romance.

Plenty of other threads on this forum saying how disillusioned some fans are with the Premiership. The "is that it ?" factor.

So we stay up. And then what ? The optimistic posters will hope for us to qualify for Europe. Qualification for a largely discredited competition ("The UEFA Cup has lost its magic" - hmm, sound familiar ??). Even if we qualify that competition would then take second place to "our real priorities".

I'm gutted by this thread. Bad enough that the clubs care only about clinging to the Premiership money - for it's own sake, not for any sporting reasons - very sad that so many supporters are happy to throw their dreams away too.
