Well, another excellent away trip spoiled only by the performance of our team!

Everything was great - travelled to Bridgewater with my 2 kids on Friday, accommodation fine, nice food on way down. Excellent cooked breakfast at services on Sat morning, frie **thumbup nds Chris & John arrived at 11am, went down with them to Torquay (in Chris's new Porsche Cayenne - not bad). Found great fish n' chip restaurant near ground, then found a pub showing the football so spent half an hour in there (coke only, of course). Terrace tickets behind the goal, nice ground, great atmosphere, and then.......

....it all went wrong when the team came out.

Tone was set by Martin Taylor (and others) strolling onto the pitch, barely able to raise a trot, whilst Torquay players sprinted on looking fired up. First Martin Taylor header (are you getting the theme?) was a pathetic little downwards nod from penalty spot to feet of their player on the edge of the box. Got away with it, of course. The rest followed the same pattern. Every time Butt passed the ball he found an opponent (is he colour blind or something?), Jarosik looked very sick and totally peeved off about being asked to run when clearly, he'd much rather walk. Heskey had a classic Heskey game - spent more time sitting on his bottom (he really ought to get some studs fitted to those slippers), Pandiani came on and waited 40 mins before his first telling contribution, which was to give the ball to an opponent and leave Martin Taylor (yes, him again) little choice other than to chop him down as he broke for goal. Bruce spent about 20 mins umm'ing and ahh'ing about whether to bring Kilkenny on (clearly, he didn't want anyone to upset our rythmn, by passing to a team mate). During this prolonged pause, fans encouraged Brucie with chants of 'you don't know what you're doing', 'Premier league, we're having a laugh', 'we'll score again, don't know where, don't know when' and 'what the f*** is going on?'.

All in all, a fine showing by the lads ie the 1500 lads who paid ridiculous sums of money (over £100 in my case) and gave up their weekend to make the trip.

I see its 'kids for a quid' for the replay - don't suppose they have thought about offering 'tickets for a quid' to anyone who wasted their time and money going down on saturday? Fat chance.

WBA or Reading next (for the Gulls, that is). Sad thing is, if its Reading and we do get through, I might be tempted....

The game happened on Saturday... do you live in a time warp? ;)

No, you were right the first time - I live in a time warp. And I was out all day yesterday as well.

Away trips are not about the match result.

Never been fortunate enough to travel away with Blues but if I ever did, the weekend would mean jack to me without at least a point and a decent performance. I get peeved off enough when we drop points that we shouldn't.

Make no mistake, we had a great weekend. But it was no thanks to the performance of the team, and it really would be nice if, just for once, the club was to acknowledge to support of people who make such long trips only to be let down by a poor performance - some cheap tickets for the replay would be one way to do it?

Butl ike all true fans, I'll keep doing it, cos I love it really!

Bar the result mate what did your kids think of the Tourquay ground compared to other premier league grounds they had been to?

Sorry for slow reply - had to do other stuff!

Kids enjoyed Torquay, bit of a novelty having to stand on terraces, they've never really done that before. For me, it was just like to good old days, although my back seems to have softened up since then!

All in all, a decent football ground with a good atmosphere and friendly staff, we really enjoyed ourselves! Wish there were more grounds left like it.

the fact is were consentrating on the league and to stay in the league, I couldn't really give a c**p if they were c**p as long as No one got INJURED and as long as play decent football in the league I couldn't care less about the FA CUp and it is funny reading the rant about the players on Saturday.

Anyway
Premier ship football next season
Loss to torquay in replay
We'll be there
K.R.O!!

Pont taken, but these players are paid a lot of money and fans make a lot of sacrifices to watch them. Saturday's efforts were unacceptable and disrespectful to loyal supporters - in my opinion!

But on to the next game eh?
