Anelka; Surely worth bidding for

If the board really wants a big signing and there is any truth in Everton going for Anelka, please can we challenge them for his signature. I think he is the sort of player blues need and can get the goals to keep us up. Sun reports around 5million may be offered and he is on 50k a week but would be worth it. I am not going to hold my breath on this one and know that a major problem would be the clubs present position. Surely it`s worth a go though?

Seems the stock answer on this board recently. Can`t you at least discuss reasons why not, that response is a complete waste of time.

sure way to disturb and destroy a dressing room is to put him in in it. However he fits the bill as far as Brucey is concerned and wouldn't look out of place in "Bruces team of wayward footballers" or the "rescue home"

can score and always has, is quick - but not worth the hassle

Anelka is a troublesome player.

He has never settled at a club and demands the attention and limelight whereever he is. His ego would not allow him to come to this club.

Great player but a bad attitude. We need people who can help the team spirit at the moment and not destroy what little there seems to be.

Just a point of order

I am fairly sure that the angst shown by the anti Bowyer lot had an awful lot more to do with his off the field antics rather than his on field spats.

I think he is only a troublemaker as far as he probably sulks and it does have an effect on the dressing room spirti IMO

Yeah i know, but i am at work. So posts are sometimes, short and sweet.

He's got pace yes. But in the dressing room the blokes a mare. Not what we need in there at the moment! We need a togetherness, not someone to upset the applecart.
He'll probably only be looking the a paycheck! Hes had more clubs than i've had Bacon Sandwiches, and believe me, i've had a few. Their is a reason for so many clubs!

He's clearly a great player, but so is Jimmy-Floyd. I'd much prefer JFH. ;)

Surely our main concern right now is to find a proven goalscorer, and fast! Anelka might not be a nice man and potentially a troublesome player in the longer term, but as a short-term fix, I'd struggle to think of anyone more suitable. He's got the pace we need and will score goals. Hasselbaink would be a good option too, for the same reasons.

Anelka maybe troublesome but he is one hell of a player - he has bags pace and the goalscoring ability we seem to lack at the minute.

Some have said we don't have £7m to spend?

I'd rather have Anelka for £7m than AJ for around the same price.

Anelka's been linked with Newcatsle, so I'd doubt he come to St. Andrews and fight relegation over newcastle who's doing well.

Have Newcastle even got any money after the huge amount they spent in the summer.

I think Souness is being given some money to get a replacement for the injured Owen and Ameobi.

Newcastle have always got money. If they need to they'll just release another shirt in the club shop halfway through the season and the toon will buy them all up and bish bash bosh they have nother £15million player!

It's a way of life up there and not an added extra

i would take anelka as a short term option to dig us out of trouble.he would virtually guarrantee the goals we need.if we could get him with an escape clause that someone else would buy him at the end of the season it could work !!!
i see similarities with the dugarry move - he had a bit of a rebel raising history but did wonders for us - maybe anelka could do the same .
