I know this is sad, but I'm a Fantasy Football nut. We have an auction coming up this Friday, and I'm sure a number of managers in my league are going to be competing to bid for Chris Sutton - if only because new strikers becoming available is pretty rare. However, one thing that concerns me is whether Birmingham intend to use him regularly as a striker, or as a centre half. If (as a Fantasy League Manager) you pay a striker's price, and then he ends up playing in defence and not scoring, it's going to be a very poor buy!

So guys, I'd be grateful to hear what you think. Is he likely to play regularly as a striker for the rest of the season or not? Wouldn't it mean leaving out Heskey if he did so - which would seemingly be a bit of an odd decision?

Left Back, then as a striker for last 5 minutes when we're 3-0 down.
Or defensive midfield.
Or on the physio bench.

Who Knows

id be expecting to see a heskey sutton patnership...

Obviously I bow to your better knowledge, but wouldn't a Heskey/Sutton partnership be a bit samey? I thought that was why Bruce was being linked with the likes of AJ and Earnshaw - ie to provide a target man/fast man partnership. Wouldn't Heskey/Sutton go against that?

yeah they are similar but heskey is quite quick so i suppose SB is thinking of haveing sutton as the anchor man.

In goals.

SB has a habit of playing blokes out of posession. And he has used strikers in goals before.

Anyone remember that guy Geoff Horsfield who was used in goals. And he never let one in.

Striker.

I'm sure that the exact permutations of line-up and tactics will be subject to experimentation (& injuries, suspensions, etc), but I haven't seen anything to suggest that we've bought him to be primarily a defender.

good to see that the original fantasy football is still running

back in the early 90's we used to do ours at school using all the players from across the top four divisions.

I had Ellis of Preston
