Here's a tip for anyone wanting to save a few bucks over the next theree months.

Cancel your Sky subscription (if you can find how to do that). Within days Sky transform from the unresponsive, arrogant, non customer friendly conglomerate into a caring, friendly pal, who wants to offer you three months at half price to keep your custom. Accept their offer and rescind your cancellation.

This is their latest loyalty offer. Worth a go.

this is true, i've experienced this before when i was switching from sky to ntl - they almost offered to pay me keep it!!! in the end ntl were crap so i went back anyway, but no reductions were offered then, surprisingly

I got a call from Sky the other day asking fi I wanted to insure my Sky equipment.

They said my dish, box and even remote would be covered and I would get free replacements all for about £6.50 amonth.

As my brother bought me a new remote for Christmas I didn't take up the offer.

If my dish gets storm damaged the chances are the house will be too and I won't be able to watch the telly so I didn't feel the need to spend another £6.50 amonth considering I already spend £42.50

that insurance thing is a right scam...i didn't sign up for that either. the equipment new doesn't cost that much, so to pay that much a year is taking the Pee, especially when you already pay for a full subscription. it about time Sky were taken to the monoplies commission.

I have found out that when calling sky, normally to moan about their inability to get things sorted, the quickest way thru' is to go thru' the options as "new customer", and you will get thru' to customer service within 2mins, if normal menu options chosen it could be 30mins!

so they treat "potential" customers better than real customers! can't wait until someone comes and kicks their bottom!

It won't be useful to me, it's rumoured that 1 in 4 will go from Telewest,.... so possibly there goes my all services for £10 a month perk. It's not a merger either Willie, NTL are taking over Telewest. It has to be seen to be a takeover, so that the new company can keep the existing contracts that Telewest have.

Good new for the consumer, but possibly bad news for Telewest employees in Brum and the Black Country. It should all come out in the wash soon.
