I have seen a ghost once ( well 99% sure) but the story is quite adsurd and will probally be ridiculed so wont go into it - well not just yet anyhow.
But on many an occasion in a range of different settings, locations etc etc I have felt a prescence around me - fortunately most of the time that presense has not felt threatening in anyway (its that sort of being watched feeling) but it always seems to bring goosebumps out and raise the hairs on the back of the neck.

Feel free to tell of your experiences or beliefs - you might not want to do it alone as might freak some people out lol

i believe in it!!! as when i was at atlantic college, i was in the ladies bedroom and above me i hear someone scream mummy, mummy, and then the foot steps ran away!! another time at atlantic college was in the castle i was up there late at night with friends and we heard a noice, and saw something faint in front of us and then we all went cold and the windows blew open!!

ive heard stories about a stradling family who lived there back in the 1600s and the last stradling to have it was sir tomomas stradling, he went away with his mate, his mate killed him to get onwer ship of the castle (st. donats castle), and when they flew sitr thomas stradlings body home, they put him in this room where everyone can say 'goodbye' to him, he had candles around him and a window blew open and the candles flew and burnt the room down, with the body and he never had his fuernral (sp).

also they have a grave yard which doesnt help as we had to camp by there for practise for the duke of endinbrough award!!!

so i had mix feelings whislt i was there for a year, sometimes was to frightend to go to college and i would say i was ill!!!

yes i believe in them.

most of the regulas on here know that i lost my nephew in 2004 and we were close.

one tuesday evening i was on here when i smelt ciggarete smoke and noone in the house smokes (i had given up 15 months earlier) and the misses could smell it as well, on the saturday my sister called to tell me he had died at about 8 o'clock tuesday evening(why i found out on saturday is a long story).

we ere very close and i had these dreams about him where he was like different but young it's hard to discribe and i was asking him questions and he was answering them.

i found out at the funneral that what he had told me was true.

he also is with me now he plays practical jokes on me and if you knew him he was like that .

one of the best blokes you could ever meet.

i have never seen him but i have thought there was someone there.

RIP Daz.

i don't believe in them, until i actually see one then i won't. I don't disbelieve anyone elses claims..if they believe then i believe them, but i can't say i have ever felt anything. When i was very young a gypsy came to our door in Northfield and told my mum that i was evil, lol i was only six months old!! i have been to lots of places that i have thought could be haunted, i even walked through places in the dead of night, like Graveyards and old buildings in the vain hope i might see or hear something. One time i worked in a very old school in Scotland and i thought that something was there and opening doors that i know i had closed earlier that day. i have never seen anything! the only time i thought i saw something i put it down to Peat mist in a field. one day i stopped my car in a village called Ashby st Ledgers at about 2am in the morning near a church and a field, as i stopped a mist came over the top of the fence in a weird shape.... and floated straight towards me... i froze in one spot trying to figure out what i was looking at, in the end i just shrugged my shoulders and carried on my journey convinced i had seen nothing.

Sorry about your nephew Dr.Nick,

Although only a guess, intuition or just my overactive imagination - the presence I feel sometimes - I think is maybe my twin brother, my brother died before birth - however upon doing whatever hospitals do in this situation it seems they found me lurking about (my mom didnt know she was having twins) a couple of weeks later a new blue was born..
I often think about how different life would have been for me had he survived, on the other side of the coin it is also comforting to think that I may have a guardian angel looking over me.

thanks mate

this is not unexspected and i think that he is with you.

i am an allmighty sceptic about these things but i know what i know.

have you ever found a little white fether in your house.?

it is supposed to be a sign of a child lost at a young age.

mine are not jsut me who exspiriences these odd things my misses and my to daughters have had them as well.

and my mate god that was funny, me and him were talking in the kitchen doorway one day , i was justinside the door way and he just outside in the hall at the foot of the stairs, whaen he suddenly said godd i thought someone was on your stairs then and i asked where he said right there and pointed to the little landing i have halfway up them, i said ah take no notice it's only darran.

he said who's darran and i told him and of course he laughed and said yeah right.

it was 2 days latter and he had gone to the toilet upstairs and when he came down he said it was very funny about knocking on the door trying to scare him , we all just looked at each other , on one had gone upstairs.

he still thinks were winding him up.

sorry to here about your bro, i'm sure he's keeping a good eye on ya. **thumbup

My mom has had more experience in this field than myself
In one house she lived in there was period of activity that ws quite surreal, it started off harmlessly enough - electrical stuff turning itself on and off (once the stereo turned itself on without being plugged in), lightbulbs blowing, cold spots etc - the sort of sstuff that can be explained away, then items of jewellery etc would go missing and turn up in the most bizarre places
Then came the smell upstairs - apparently it was a vile pungent but sweet smell, well my mom went and cleaned everywhere using bleaches etc thinling it was a hygiene issue, but the smell came and went nethertheless, also my moms dog used started to behave weird - wouldnt go up stairs or into the kitchen (unless picked) - she would sit and stare alert but at nothing then at other times growl and bark at seemingly nothing.

The next two incidents were quite bad apparently, forstly my mom whilst in the house alone felt a push on her back whilst going down the stairs, luckily the handrail stopped any fall, and not long after a door that had been securely hinged fell on top of her.

A friend of my moms who claimed to have some knowledge regarding spiritualism advise dmy mother to talk to the ghost whenever she sensed or smelt it - by saying hello and that she lived here now.
Myt mom said that seemed to have an efect as things seemed to get a little better - but she also moved out not long after.
Myself and my missus stayed int hat house for a little before these events unfolded and I cant say that I felt anything or saw anything.
I also cant vouch for every detail in the story as I am just telling it how I was told it

With no disrespect to any here i`m a firm non believer,i`d love to think loved ones who have gone are looking down on us but i dont think they are.

I for one know my loved ones past would never allow pedophiles to go about their business (also the reason i dont believe in god) unhindered, its a nice thought but unfortunately its not true.

Oh by the way i once heard a woman say this, for all non believers try saying to your guardian to leave you a feather the next day,i know a few who tried it and were amazed a feather crossed their path the next day but to be fair how many feathers do you see each and every day?....I say this to my guardian:`show me by Chrissy Sutton bagging a hatrick against Pompey` and i`ll be a believer forever. **thumbup

we are decorating at the moment and have moved alot of things around in the living room, my daughters bought me a figure for my colection at christmas and can i find it? no this is odd because i have'nt put anything away.

all i have done is move stuff about to make more room, nothing has been thrown away.

i have surched every where. i know it will turn up.

it's bizzar to say the least.

Yeah me too mate, but the one thing that makes me feel there is no after life/god is why would they let children get killed?...Not one christian (of which i was one) can answer, what reason was James Bulger killed in that fashion?...What reason was Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman killed....what reason was the rapes of a 5 year old and a 6 year old in more recent times?

If anyone could explain this using `god` then i would be very interested, but as yet, although getting into proper rows over it,nobody can explain.

And still i say,i beleive in Peter Pan more than i do in `god`.

i have asked the same question mate but think of it this way

what if he cant interveen?

what if he did'nt create man ?

what if he is just a higher being that has tryed to show us the right way ?

i do believe in god but i dont think he can control people, i think he can have an infkluence but actually stop people doing things, no.

there are to many things that point to the fact that he did'nt creat.

dinosause, even adam and eve, they had to sons for a start.

I believe in ghosts although i have never seen one myself.

My main belief is in reincarnation. I have been regressed recently to find out about my past life and it sure explains a lot. I firmly believe that when we die our spirits travel into the body of a new born baby and we are reborn.

I guess due to our own immortality we have to try to find "something" to either believe in or fear. Just believing we are just here for a moment, and then gone for no other reason than luck causes us problems. Hence the faith business kicks in, and we want to believe there is a bigger reason, a purpose for our existance. It gives us security when in danger, and makes death less scary. If we drift away from the belief in an afterlife our minds create the need for something else, and hence we dream of reincarnation, be it as another human, or as some other living creature on earth. Are there a limited number of "souls" in existance? are there new ones being "made" somewhere. And what or who decides what we are to become...

nice thought chain, and almost romantic. We all want to believe our lost loved ones are with us, as a spirit, or a beloved pet etc, these beliefs give us comfort.

I have drifted thru' the various options, but still, sadly, draw a blank, and the older I get the more I believe we are just here beacuse we're here, pure chance, a chance happening of chemical / biological interaction of ages and ages. Like any creature, or element our purpose is to evolve and the ensure the continuation and developement of our genetic coding... does there need to be some creator? or even a purpose?

Why are we here?
Because we're here!
Roll the bones....

Why does it happen?
Because it happens!
Roll the bones....

God? Not sure about God but I do think there is something else beyond this state of being, I have lost both parents, My Mum when I was 19 and my Dad a couple of years ago but at no stage have I ever felt they have left me.

I don’t pretend to know what is out there but in a universe where infinity exists, space just goes on and on, that anything is possible.

The is a good book called Conversations With God that states that we are all basically God and are entities that take human form to experience. Be that good or bad experiences. Again not sure if right but who knows.

All I know is that I want to leave this world knowing that the people I have met, loved and conceived will remember me for the good times and will raise a glass to my memory. And that perhaps I may meet up with them again on another plain!

used to have a ghost living at my parents house. We had an old woman come round who used to talk to it until the ghost passed to the other side.

When i was at University the house we lived in had a ghost living in there and to be honest i am not suprised. The temp of the house was always colder ( a lot) colder than the outside temp and with the heating on full blast. Yo never felt alone in the house even when you were. We moved out at the end of the year and a new set of students moved in. It turns out that back in the 1950s there was a murder in the house and the woman, who was mudered, was still living there.

The couple used to argue a lot until one day the hubby killed her. She was still there apparently cause the woman was waiting for her husband to return!
