Can you honestly trust anything that the Labour party comes out with anymore. The Iraq and weapons of mass destructions debacle and the loss of a mans life surely must have been enough for a government to reasess itself and look at what it is doing. However i have become so frustrated with the soundbites that i watch and hear that they are becoming more and more within the relm of fantasy thanks to a wonderful job of spin. Do the powers that be in the Labour NEC not see the damage that they are causing to there party right now. I no longer can trust anything that that any government minister says because below it you know theres a horrible web of lies and destruction that they have built up. The latest in a lonf line of political bloopers is the Rt Hon Ruth Kellys department for education and the disgraceful foul up they have made of something that in essence is quite clear. I listened to Ruths apology speech and i have to say it was the most luke warm apology i have ever heard. Throughout it she managed to avoid the main issue and showed how shallow her and the department are by not knowing how far or how deep this issue lies. This latest blooper is why i feel we cannot let this government take us down the path that they would like to lead us down towards the depth of rule by fear and a liberty less society. I am worried that we have 4 more years of this terror in Westminster. |

If you would like to push me down the stairs, break all my fingers one by one or even peel off my tonails but never ever utter that womans name in such polite company again. I think there are a good few options left before we go back to totalitarianism. |

totally agree obviously people only see all the bad a govenment does, I for one am happy with the efforts the government has put in over health and other important issues (of course they could do more... they always can) but if we were still under a tory government now we would not have free health care thats for sure  we can never go back to those days |

At least you have optional voting. Here we are forced to vote, compulsory voting. If you don't vote you get fined. I want to have your right - the right not to vote if I don't want to. |

This governmnet (one I voted for for the first 2 of their 3 terms) can't be trusted without a change of leadership. Blair has shown himself to be a weak puppet of the corporation and not a representative of the people. Yes, he has worked hard for some of the worlds poor and though fell short of full debt cancellation, did make a huge dent in that debt. Not so admirable is his attempt to lower the percentage of people living in poverty in the middle east by droping bombs on them. Bombed them to liberty and out of poverty. On absolutley no evidence. At the time he said time would be his judge. He said he couldn't tell us the intelligence and we had to trust him. Since then lie after lie in his case for risking the lives of our good service men and women has been exposed. Since then it has transpired that he was informed that the intelligence was fiction. Time has judged him. And time has found him guilty of genocide. I look forward to the day he is impeached, then imprisoned. I could never vote for this governmnet. Not this murderous government. Like the anarchists always say, if voting actually changed anything they'd abolish it. The older I get, the more this is true. |

I have to agree that voting seems slightly pointless at the moment. I used to think that people who didn't vote were just wasting their chance to make a difference, but at the end of the day, what difference will it really make? Say David Cameron is very successful as leader of the Tories, and is PM in 5 years time, what will be the difference between him and the Labour government under Tony Blair as it is today? They're so similar it's unbelievable, i just try to stay away from politics because when i think about it, it can really make me incensed, giving idiots a lot of power to play with. |
