Don't get it?

I'm a puritan if I believe in sustaining and extending the NHS.
Education
Social Services.
Tolerance
Ecumenical discourse.

But I'm a Cavalier if I'm against progress

I think I understood the bears meaining to be different.

I understood bears comments to be crying out against intolerance.

But agree with all you say if Bear was indeed advocating a new era of Thatcherism >;o)

What! I have never voted tory and am not about to start now! It was my miss fortune to have to live through the years of Thatcher.

No what I was asking was as Tubs2 said "I understood bears comments to be crying out against intolerance".

We live in a world where we have global comunication so we should be able to understand each other more but instead we seem to be shrinking into our own isolated way of thinking i.e. new puritanism!

i agree - intolerence is intolerable and i for one wont tolerate it - in fact i'll batter anybody disagreeing with me on this :D

when i was in junior school, the terms "cavalier and roundhead" had different meanings, and in fact were euphemisms for establishing who was circumcised or not  ....
