another club just sprung to mind for all the wrong reasons, and that was the mayfair just in the bullring i think it was, up the escalators. i went in there on reggae night one sunday as i love that music, but some black lads took exception to me chatting up a pretty black girl and they gave me a good thumping in the toilets for it. as i staggered back out all bloody and clothes in rags, the bouncers saw me and dragged me out, giving me another slap for no particular reason.
just to round the night off, the taxi driver wouldnt let me in his cab and i had to walk about 6 miles home to kings heath at 3am - another quality night out in birmingham town centre, but i loved it all, wild horses wouldn't have kept me away.
strangely, i've never chatted a black girl up since

My memories of the eighties were

1. Being beaten in the playground

2. Wearing shorts all year round (stupid uniform)

3. Going to bed early

4. Bloomin Sierra that broke down all the time!

5. embarrising pictures of me and my brother going to a fancy dress party as Superman!!!

6.Being forced to Watch the 6 o'clock news every night!

7. Ham Sarnies

8. Being beaten up on account of supporting the Blues by "Lifelong" supporters of Liverpool!

9. Singing Hymns

10. Riding my bike straight into a wall

To Be honest i was pleased when the 90's came around things started to look up then!
