Does anyone else on this board go surfing? I am going to Croyde, North Devon (for a nice 4ft clean swell) this weekend, but never been surfing there before. Is it any good? Are the locals arsey with 'outsiders' etc.

Dont worry about the locals mate, I used to go down there a lot and I never had any trouble. Croydes a good break for short boards, watch out for the rocks on the left of the bay. Saunton Sands is a good break for longer boards, use the rip next to the rocks on the left but watch out. When its going off it has nice long slow waves into the beach.
if the surf is rough try the break just beyond Croyde (cant remember the name) well protected but requires a good sweel to get it going!

Croyde was poor to be honest, but Woolacombe was perfect on my old 10ft board. Slow and mellow long rides.
Roll on Thursday - Widemouth/Bude !
