yes the game is a minority sport , used to have a team here , 'Birmingham Bulls' , quite popular a few years back , there is a good following on the european circuit with the claymores , dragons etc no less supported than reserve team football @ solihull borough-74 at last game and football is king eh!!!

I remember the Bulls. I think that The Ravens are still going in London. Fact is that despite several efforts the game has not taken off over here.

Some people are seduced by the razzamatazz of the NFL - fair enough - but when the sport has to stand up on it's own merits nobody is interested.

All hype.

Well I watch Superbowl every year, and have done since appx Superbowl XX.
I do try to catch most of the play-offs as well, and since Sky started covering, do also watch the occasional game during normal season.

Religiously always book the next day off work as well.....

Go Steelers !!.

KRO.

i second that. i've tried to ''get into it'' and try to be postive and all that, but it is just plain dull as hell. Yanks love it to death though

I went to watch the Bham Bulls years ago when the played at teh old mosely rugby club ground (sadly no longer with us!) and it was cr ap. It went on for 3 hours stopping and starting. Dull Dull Dull!

However I do like the superbowl, now I put this down to the fact that they know how to play it where as we don't.

for me the sport itself is excellent and is played at olympic sprint pace by real athletes and some extremely tough fellas, but the thing that kills it for me is how they make a game that lasts an hour go on for 4 hours!! talk about dragging things out! of course, in the states its an institution and an absolutely massive event - they cant all be wrong ;)

The Reddings may not be there any more, but Moseley Rugby Club are currently playing at Billesley and are top of National League 2

I used to go up to watch em play at the Reddings and then stay for the disco in the evening, lots of lovely posh totty! **thumbup

I know they moved to play at the University for awhile but didn't know about them playing at Billesley. Have they got a proper ground now or is it a similar situation to when the played at the Uni?

The council own the ground, but the club have just signed a 99 year lease which means that they can start to develop some permanent facilities. There is currently a temporary stand and clubhouse. The clubhouse overall is pretty good, it's about the same size as the old main bar at the Reddings, and it takes about as long to get served
