Schools have closed in an attempt to halt the spread of the viruses.

My daughter's school has been closed this week but is open tomorrow. We have both had the virus and it isn't very nice at all. More severe than a normal cold or flu. Comes on very quickly.

I went to work on friday morning after being awake most of the night with a swollen throat and being sick. Went to work but felt very ill by 9.30am.

It took them 3 hours to decide that I needed to go home. Despite showing all symptoms of the viruses and being in a school with over 1100 staff and kids the NURSE told me to stick it out as it was "only Friday!"

Daughter came out of school Friday with a letter saying they would be shut Mon, Tue Wed of this week. My mom has had to go in and clean the place. Not easy work. They've had to clean floors, walls, desks, tables, pencils, chairs, everything the kids come in contact with.

I'm over the worse of it now but still very full of cold.

There's only my 9 in my class at college anyway so if there was any illness they'd probably shut down the whole course
