I only ask cause there has to be a tilting point !

Its all well and good giving SB this unreserved vote of confidence, but like with TF, there has to be a certain result that would make DS break and sack the man regardless of what DG and the others say ?

I'd say it would have to be lose by 6 tonight ! I think 5 or less and they'll look at the 3.5 million it will reportedly cost them and just let SB make all the normal injury excuses and carry on ! I think 6 may be enough for DS to say enough is enough !

I mean, it was the 6-0 away to Man City in the Worthington Cup that did for TF, so maybe as were at home, 5 may be enough !

and when you anylise TF's departure that result was the straw that broke the camels back, he was actually sacked after a 3-1 win at Barnsley ( a result by the way, that left us 5 points off an automatic promotion spot with 3/4 of the season still to go) , but the board put it down to the man city game !

I'm going with 5 as the DS tilting point. how many do you think ?

Oh, and i make no bones about it, I've wanted SB out since October and have said so consistently !

personally i don't think David Diddy-Van has the balls to sack Steve Bruce at this moment, not even sure he cares any more.

the board have remained very quiet for a while now. think that at last Diddy-Van and the Cold brothers have realised their horrendous faux pas!

I understand what youre both saying, but i still think there has to be a tilting point where the level of embarresment at not acting, even at 3.5 million, becomes to much for our multi millionaire owners to resist !

At least I live in hope !

Why not? 2nd half's just started, Tebs has come on - I reckon we can just sneak it 9-3. I can smell the hot dogs!

**thumbup When I read this post before the game last night, I thought... NAH... ain't gonna happen! Well Pewster, you were spot on mate!! Prophetic indeed!! Whatever you do for a living... give it up and become a fortune teller!!

Obviously, 7 isn't the 'tilting point'... but at least you suggested (in the thread title) that it could possibly be 8! tomatoes

Well is seems that 7 is not the turning point.

Maybe Chelsea will beat us 10-0 and that might just do it :(

Hadn't been on since Tuesdays humiliation so i thought i'd find my original post and hang my head in humbridge to those who said any number wouldn't result in him getting the axe, you were right !

Not only do we now have a incompetent manager, it appears we have a board to match !

15 players in each position?

Then we might just stand a chance.

Do you think they'll play 5 minutes each way if we ask?

I play 5-a-side once a week with a load of mates. If it gets too one sided we just swap a few players round....I can't see anything wrong with that.

Great thread Pewster, I know it wasn't the original intention but it made me laugh.

Its easy to be wise after the event, but i wish at the time i had predicted seven, i even wish it had been 9 ! Unfortunately, i still think we'd be stuck with him !

I have visions of all 22 players and Bruce and Mourniho picking sides, "you go first Steve" says Mourinho

Bruce picks Damien Johnson

Mourinho picks Frank Lampard

Bruce picks Alex Bruce

Mourinho laughs to himself and picks Michael Essien

Bruce picks Muzzy Izzet, he isn't there, but Bruce thinks he'll be great when he gets fit

Mourinho has to have medical treatment for cramps caused by hysteria

Bruce picks Nicky Butt

It goes on until there are two players left - Geremi and Martin Taylor

Bruce picks Geremi on the basis that you can't have enough defensive midfielders, Mourinho decides to play with 10.

Brilliant!!!

I'm not sure he would have only picked Damian Johnson once though.
