Just popped into the Tesco Express at Dickens Heath and low-and-behold who do I see parking up and getting out of his rather expensive looking Range Rover but Steve Clemence.

He then walks into the bar opposite Tesco's and sits down with a group of people by the front window. In that group I saw Stan Lazaridis but couldn't tell who else was there.

Now obviously I don't begrudge footballers having a life outside of the game but after last nights debacle I couldn't help but feel the anger grow inside me when they're all seemingly laughing and joking together.

Here we all are humiliated after last night but it would appear if you're earning thousands of pounds a week it's like water of a ducks back.

And to think we're all castigating Steve Bruce.

To be honest when Taylor fumbled the sevenths in i was laughing too.

Sometimes its the only way to cope.

What i want to know is who was the player trying to swap shirts

 Mate you can't ask them not to go out for lunch with their mates just because they lost a game. I'm as peed off as the next 'nose today but I don't begrudge Clem going to a restaurant.

I don't begrudge players a social life, but I would like to know the extent of Martin Latka's injury.........anyone know? He was fit enough to be walking around the Pallasades shopping centre last Wednesday!

As I said I don't have a problem with them having a life/going for lunch/laughing/joking/whatever.

I kinda thought that today perhaps they'd have to be in training or something to try and sort this mess out.

It doesn't exactly send out the right messages does it.

Plus, I was also trying to say that on here we tend to blame Steve Bruce for our problems when perhaps it's the one's on the pitch who should be to blame for a large part of our shocking season.

shocking conclusion to arrive at, as i've been told many times when suggesting it myself....now tow the line and blame sb like you've been brainwashed to do....

The players currently available to Bruce are not good enough........end of story.
It's no good blaming the players because they are just not capable of performing any better.
The blame lies with Bruce ultimately because he hasn't bought the right players for the job. The 'class' players we are supposed to have, eg Melchiot, play for us because we offer them top wages, not because they choose to.
One shot on target again last night (I don't remember seeing it) is shocking for a cup quarter final. I can't blame the strikers either because they need a good supply of decent passes.......high balls and crosses are no good when Forssell is on his own. We don't have the quality in midfield.......and I don't even want to talk about the defence.

Don't know why, he'll probably have his own Liverpool shirt in a few weeks.

So its better to make them go home, and cry and lower their confidence, lazardis and clemence are probably 2 of the players who didnt want to give up last night(others obivously dj) so good on them. Its like saying your screwd up in work, you gona go home and cry about it?

Who was it that...

signed them

coached them

selected them

organised them (ha)

motivated them

How about you try and read my posts properly.

I don't think them crying/staying at home is gonna help either. But perhaps extra training/team meetings might do.

Anyway, not swanning about looking like they haven't got a care in the world would go a long way at the moment.

Clemence was largely innafective last night. the only players to come out with anything like credit must be Damien Johnson, David Dunn and Forssell, with possibly Jermaine Pennant - once he'd been moved back to his natural position.
