In a season of such shocking performances, who do you think are the players that have not let us down?

I'd say Pennant, DJ, Upson, Stan, and Jarosik

I agree Entirely, perhaps Forssell aswell though.

And Pandiani did well in the short time he got to play. Why we kept picking him over Heskey I don't know...

I agree you can't fault his effort put his performances have been substandard 9 times out of 10. Kenny hasn't let us down much either, the only problem is his pace but he can't do anything about that

Damien Johnson,Jermaine Pennant and Neil Kilkenny (possibly Dunny cuz I believe his injury problems are genuine) end of!

Far too many players have been out for far too long with 'mysterious' injuries that have taken far too long to heal-smacks of-'I'll bide my time till the summer-don't want any serious injuries that could jeapordise my summer transfer' GRRR!

I dont see why Pennant has so many knockers on this message board! He runs his socks off every single game and is usually our only attacking threat at all. We also take for granted he gets cropped every game and always gets up and carries on. He's my player of the season by a mile. So what he goes up Broad Street on the night before his day off, who doesn't at his age. Were lucky to have such a talent at such a pityful club

I think DJ is the one who has done best for us (although I know some disagree), even if he's not our best player. The Fors tried against Liverpool and I was pleased to see Dunn go to each player before the game and after the first 2 goals and try to life them - shame it didn't work (bit like his legs  ).

I don't think its so much a case of whose let us down. But with regards to effort, and who looks bothered, whos performing then theres 4 categories IMO.

1. The 100% committed type - everygame envolved - no opportunity to lack effort or its noticed.

DJ - no lack of effort.
Clemence - no lack of effort.
Clapham - unsure why but hardly used, when used looked assured and puts in effort
Izzett - injured, but when played never lacked effort.
Kilkenny - no lack of effort.
Kenny - no lack of effort, just age catching up
Upson (fringe) - greatly missed, although had poor patch
Sutton - no lack of effort

2. The flair players who go missing sometimes and it gets confussed with lack of effort. Are they marked out, not given the ball?

Pennant - a few games goes missing, but is that down to lack of effort or opposition focus, personally I think the latter.
Forssell - recovering still, but the effort is there.
Stan - same old stan
Dunn - hit and miss - rushed back all the time - more often than not .
Pandiani - when fitness level was built up, put in effort.
Jarosik - better with the ball than without.
Heskey - uphill battle with crap service.

3. The goalkeepers who can get shown up and criticised. - what about the people in front of them.

Maik Taylor - you can't say its lack of effort.
Vaesen

4. ....and the plain lazy, lack bottle, distracted, low on confidence, no determination....whatever you want to call it.

Martin Taylor - gutless for a man of his size. Timid Taylor, nedds to toughen up.
Mario - hit and miss, some very poor performances unlike last season.
Julian Gray - daydreamer, shame as can be a good player
Nicky Butt - hopefully turning the corner after some poor performances.

I'll exclude DJ Campbell, Painter, Tebily due to lack of involvement.

The main problem this season is we were relying on our Top performers producing. Dunn, Izzet, Forssell, Heskey, Pennant. The problem being 2 out injured for most games (as expected). One coming back from injury, who needed time, leaving two to carry the team.
