just worried that even if we stay up he will get rid of the big name players, who whilst have not done it this season are the better players at the club, and replace them with what i am guessing will in inferior players??

so basically we are stuffed next season as well then??

not necessarily hughsie - its horses for courses, and i dont believe mario, kenny, upson, butt, jiri, stan, heskey, gray and one or two others would have the stomach for the fight to get us back in contention for the prem for whatever reason. if thats the case we're better off without them and to utilise the money on players like sidwell, nugent, the horse, maybe even carter under a new manager??? there's more ways than one to skin a cat mate... **thumbup

No I think he wants to replace the premadonnas who are on big wages, and think they are big players but are useless. E.g. Melchiot, Butt (improved but still not worth £40k a week) I also wouldn't be suprised to see Heskey leave as were not getting enough back from him, along with KK, Clapham, Clemence, Taylor - some honest hardworking players in there but need to be replaced with better quality if we stay in this league

agree if we go down there is not point keeping many of the big players, and agree with you, although the last thing i would do is have the horse back!!!

my worry is if we stay up what we are going to do if we lose many of the big name players

The players that we had in our first season were supposedly inferior to those we have now (they were certainly paid less). That team would have a great chance of getting promotion.

i heard this on the bbc web site and i got the impression he was talking about a mass clear out of players that dont do the busness and the ones on high wages.

he also cometed on the wages players are on now and said that someing has to be done to bring down the wages to a more aceptable level.
