Some one told me that we once beat Liverpool 9 - 1.
I expect it was in 1936! Does anyone know?

Thrashed 9 - 1 and just look at Liverpool now.
Lets hope we don't have to wait 50 odd years to thrash them back. At least we did it first.

It was indeed December 1954. And would you believe, Liverpool went 1-0 up !!

We also beat Port Vale 7-2 at home a week earlier !!

16 goals in 2 games - I wonder how long it will take us to score 16 goals from now ?? I will go for February 18th 2009.

And they weren't playing in all red either - I'm afraid that Liverpool at that time were very much the poor relations on Mersyside and it wasn't until Bill Shankley took over changed the strip and started to work his magic that they became the force they are today.

There again the current Blues side is probably as different but in the opposite way. They're 16 goals better we're 16 goals worse :(
