The Blues were on the end of a 7-0 hammering by Liverpool at St Andrews on Tuesday evening, and midfielder Dunn admits he has never experienced such a low defeat before.

''I have never, ever been beaten like that,'' Dunn told The Sun. ''The boss didn't say much in the dressing room - then again, there wasn't a great deal he could say."

--------------------

THE BOSS DIDN'T SAY MUCH???? if I were the boss i would be throwing tea cups around shouting and screaming after a performance like that!

No wonder the players are playing like they are - they are safe in the knowledge they can do what they want without any come-back whatsoever...

spot on.... this is the reason why our team lack any back bone, because the manager hasn't got one either.

did you ever see him play? did you ever see him and pallister/schmiechel arguing? if you saw any of these you know he has backbone in bucketfuls - brains, now thats another matter. perhaps he'd forgotten how to count to 7 by the time they'd all showered and left?

Bruce lays down law

By Colin Tattum, Evening Mail

Steve Bruce today told his players - both new and old - that their Blues honeymoon period is over.
Bruce has laid down the law after three defeats in four games and has warned he expects significant improvements.
The performance in the 2-1 loss at Middlesbrough angered Bruce, who said his summer signings had to adapt to Blues' traditional style of play and attitude under him.
And he stressed that those who have been at the club for longer must not think they can rest on their laurels.
He stated: "Whatever I say in dressing rooms, I keep to myself but, certainly, I won't accept what was dished up on Saturday and the players were told that.

Stern words indeed, by a man with backbone.

Considering this excuse was September 2004, I think we know how serious he was and how much of a mug he thinks we are for listening to variations for 2 years.

I want Bruce out mate but its naive to say that for him to be effective he has to shout and throw tea-cups

Silence can be as effective as rollockings - i know with my own parents the silent dissapointed treatment worked and I definitely did not think I had gotten away with it.

stanley has suffered from depressionas as a result of the way bruce treats him

use to really lay into him first two years into the premiership

he has been our best player in the premiership imo, has always given his all, has never f*cked up, people say kenny but the bloke has made so many mistakes the last year or so as has upson and mario

you have to be joking with that one. Can you imagine for one second what it would be like to be in Bruce's position? If he hadn't got backbone he would have gone ages ago. That is one of the reasons I really like the man. He has bottle, far mor ethan some of his so called supporters.
