We all know he'll be the next England manager, so let's sack Bruce, offer O'Neil a short term contract so he can 'ease' himself back into football and give him a huge bonus if he keeps us up.

That way we give ourselves a chance plus the summer to find a new manager, and O'Neil gets a bit of practice before taking over England (unless he decides to stay!).

Simple.

Juey, maybe you have not seen the paper or heard the radio or tv, but DS and Dg have both said SB will not be sacked this season.

Besides can you really O'Niell coming to Blues.

So how would that help? Who would O'Neil pick to score the goals to keep us up? He would be in the same position as Bruce with nobody to put the ball in the back of the net.

Blues have been accused of losing the battling ethos of earlier teams but, in truth, we have been the better team in many matches this season in terms of battling, but have lacked two things, the ability to score goals and the ability to stop them at the other end.

Now, perhaps O'Neil might be able to rectify us leaking goals, but, with the present squad, he would have no more success than Bruce in getting players to score the goals.

And, besides all that, he would not come!

Forget it!

Yes, I've seen all that, but I'm not saying what I think will happen 'cause I know it won't, I'm suggesting something I think will save our Prem status.

Why wouldn't he come if it's only until he takes the England job?

He gets to blow the cobwebs out with the possiblity of a good bonus, the players get the change it looks like they need and the club has a chance of stopping up, I don't think we can now with SB.

As for scoring goals our forwards have done it before so with some regained belief why can't they do it again?

Forgive me if you think I'm clutching at straws but I don't want div 1 again.

I'd be in favour of that.

O'Neil might just be able to come up with some different tactics.

Still a quarter of the season left and we're only 3 pts behind the boggies (who are cr@p)

' Ease himself back into football ' !! :o - In a relegation scrap !!

Would love to see Martin O'Neill here but not on those terms. Would bring him in permanently in the summer in an ideal world but as plenty have said he may well have bigger fish to fry by then

Great Call.

A million for the rest of the season.

Another million if he keeps us up.

If it works 3 to 4 million to get rid of SB cost 5 to 6 million.

Chicken feed if he keeps us up compared with loss if we go down.

Great idea mate.

I just think that we are over-reacting. We are no worse than we were a week ago. A poor side, imo, but we only need to be the 17th best team to stay up. We're talking as if we are 7pts behind with 3 games left.

Btw, it's not as if my earlier pessimism was misplaced, eh ?
