I first watched Blues in 1972 and since then we have see-sawed between divisions without any great success. However a number of facts remain; 1. The current board are the best we have had in my years. They have rebuilt our stadium; they have restored professionalism following the comical Khumar reign; they have consistently supported whichever manager with cash. 2. David Gold is a first class honorable Gent and David Sullivan is honest; he only says what everybody else thinks in terms of pampered footballers. But both have moved our club forward compared to how we were prior to their arrival. 3. The position of the current manager is based not on results but on finance. The Board may be guilty of a gamble on Steve's contract but he must remain to enable the next manager to build. It would be folly to replace him now and pay the compensation when we are odds on to be relegated. 4. Get behind them all. We are not down yet. Though confidence is at its lowest since Steve took over, we could still stay up...it may seem a long shot but stranger things have happened. There is no benefit now in changing the Manager. 5. Above all, keep faith with THE BLUES. For those last few home matches, do what we at St Andrews USED to do best....make it that place once again where away teams fear with the atmosphere. WE TOO HAVE OUR PART TO PLAY. 6. KRO |

Bloo42 I agree with all of that except number 4 and I'll explain If we stay up Mr Bumble is still on big pay off if he gets sacked - he'll also claim he kept us up so shouldn't be sacked and all we'll have to look forward to is another season of his pathetic egocentric waffling after every defeat (and there'll be plenty) It'll give the vile chance to gloat even more as they'll have 2 more wins over us to crow about. In sick twisted way I almost hope we do go down so that we can offload Mr Bumble and some of his over-rated over paid and over the hill so called superstars. |

Well said Bloo42. I watched my first game in 1968 and we beat Bolton 4-0. On point 1. Definately the best board I have seen at St Andrews and I beleive the Gold family (Jacquiline next Chair) are here for the long run. On point 2. I have been fortunate to meet Mr Gold several times now and i am always impressed by his courtesy and appreciation of the support we give the club. On point 3. I am not sure Steve retains his place because of finance but rather a sence of loyalty to a manager who was loyal to the club 18 months when his dream job was available. I don't think he'll survive the summer even if we stay up. On point 4. Fully agree. Thanks for you good post. |
