The bloke is just an idiot.

How can anyone NOT give a penalty for as blatant a push in the back on Forssell as you'll ever see?

As Trevor Francis said on his commentary, if thats anywhere else on the field, it's a foul and a free kick. So why wasn't the penalty awarded?

He got carried away with booking Blues players at the end too, the guy is just not proffesional enough to be officiating a game of such importance.

He makes my blood boil, he really does.

Yep we won! **thumbup

But the fact is we should have been awarded a blatant penalty...his errors and mistakes cost teams points, thankfully not tonight, but i'm just making the comment that I hate the man as a referee, and as a character.

Really. I hate the man.

Yes he was.

How he came back into the Premiership is anyones guess, mine would be that the others are even worse than him.

No.....thats not possible, even Rob 'I'm the man' Styles isn't as bad as him.

Must admit prior to us gaining promotion to the Premiership - where hopefully we will stop - my view was that why should referees face the embarassment of being "demoted" - if they are not good enough in the Premiership why are they suddenly good enough for the next league down. If they are rubbish refs they are surely no good for the Championship (First Division) either. In the case of Mr Rennie and Mr Styles once a bad ref always a bad ref.

On 2 occasions, at least, we should have been awarded a penalty because Blackburn defenders pushed our players over. Forssell was blatantly pushed and just afterwards we had another shout when a bLackburn player clearly pushed Butt, I think, with an arm across his shoulders.

Uriah Rennie is only a Premiership referee for 1 reason and it isn't his ability.

Just come out and say it, Uriah Rennie is only a Premiership referee because he is black and the FA need to be seen to be doing something about racial equality and all that.

That is exactly what I was implying and it is not a valid reason for him being in the job.

If skin colour really didn't matter the best man for the job would always get it whether he was black, Asian, English, Welsh or Martian. The colour of the referee should be irrelevant. Rennie was once relegated from the Premiership's referee list because he was so bad. How did he get back on it?

And Moko whatever his name is hand balled it in stoppage time blatently and he gave blackburn a free kick, he was doing everything he could to get blackburn a goal.

And there's me thinking that they appointed referees for their individual ability - I am most surprised??

To be honest my opinion on who is the worst referee changes every game I see, but some of Rennie's decisions really baffle me, for instance, the drop ball he did during the first half when he blew for a foul on our player and we had the ball, if anyone can explain that to me then please do.

The other problem I suppose is that there are not a huge field to choose from - however, when you see a "big" Premiership game ie Man Ure v Chelski - it's not very often that you get this amount of comment on how good or bad a referee is - or is that too simplistic a view - would there be the same volume of postings on whichever losing teams web site you might look at depending on particular results.

well it wasnt a foul, heskey had a head injury so play had to be stopped and they had possesion, hence the drop ball

I have heard many, many people commenting about Uriah Rennie and not 1 of them have ever said they think he has the ability to be a Premiership referee.

No, I don't rate Steve Bennett any better. He too is very arrogant and likes to be the centre of attention.

1 thing I noticed tonight that really annoys me is Rennie was telling his linesmen which way to signal everything. Rennie was holding his hand out near his hip indicating which way he thought the flag should be raised. Only once Rennie had given his decision did the linesman raise the flag then Rennie held his are right up in the same direction.

WTF? What's the point in having linesmen if the ref is going to tell them what to do every time? At 1 point in the 1st half the linesman in front of the Main Stand raised his flag for a foul and a Blues free kick. He was about 5 yards, if that, away from it. Rennie, from 15+ yards, overruled and waved play on.

The referee has the final say, the linesmen are there to assist, but I agree with you K bek, he is the most annoying, nit picking referee out there.

Still not going to comment on your reason though! Waaaaaaaaay too dodgy a discussion! LOL :P

I might have to see it again but im sure we was in possession in our own area. If they had the ball before the whistle blown why would they give it back to us?
