Ok.... IF Pennant and Heskey are unfit..... .........................................Taylor................................................................... .....Tebily.....................Cunningham...........Taylor.......................Sadler............ .....DJ.....................Kilkenny..............Butt................................Gray................ ................................Sutton...............Forssell.................................................. If Kilkenny is out, then we could possibly play Sutton in there and bring DJC to partner Forssell. To be honest, like others, I'd like to keep DJ and Butt together there in the middle......this is where Bruce earns his money. We're practically out of options as we don't know whos fit or who isn't. One player I WOULDN'T be playing is Nafti. It's far too soon possibly.... Bloody hell I'm nervous now....lets just hope Pennant is fit. Another thing this shows us is the lack of strength in depth for that wide right position. |

I still reckon it could have worked to put a natural right winger and goalscorer, Nick Wright, there just for this match if Pennant is unfit. But I don't think he will have travelled with the squad. I would keep the central pairing of Butt and Johnson and put Melchiot there again. At least he would give us added height in attack, midfield and defence and can take long throws. .........................................Taylor................................................................... .....Tebily.....................Cunningham...........Taylor.......................Sadler............ .....Melchiot.....................Johnson..............Butt................................Gray.......... ................................Sutton...............Forssell.................................................. Subs: Vaesen, Latka, Kilkenny, Campbell, Nafti |

Wasn't there a thread saying that Kilkenny got injured on Thursday? I don't think he's available. |

Don't start Pennant even if he is fit leave him to the bench, when he's playing all we know what to do is pass to him and let him do it, so the opposition stick two men on him and we haven't a clue and so in comes hoofball. Take Pennant out, and we try passing it to other midfielders, ie. Gray and look what happened against Blackburn, we scored twice, Gray set them both up and had the game of his life, but with Pennant on the bench we have a superb way of changing the game so I say even if Pennant is fit leave him on the bench and bring him on later. |
