Bruce set to discover future

Steve Bruce travels to the Essex mansion of Birmingham's joint-owner David Sullivan on Friday to find out if he will continue as manager of the club following their relegation from the Barclays Premiership.
Following Birmingham's 0-0 draw with Newcastle which condemned the St Andrews club to relegation to the Coca-Cola Championship, Bruce revealed he wanted to continue in charge but he added at the time: "That decision is in the hands of other people."
Bruce faces a meeting with the Birmingham board where the club's future will be discussed, including whether he will remain as manager and he has the backing of club chairman David Gold, who admitted: "I would be surprised if Steve Bruce is not Birmingham's manager at the start of the season."

Gold was speaking at the launch of his autobiography 'Pure Gold' at St Andrews and he added: "Steve Bruce is under pressure, the same as I am, and so is David Sullivan. We are all under pressure as we must all perform.
"All I will say is that I am a Steve Bruce supporter. He took Birmingham City into the Premier League and is now charged with the same task. I believe he is the man to do it.
"I will go into the meeting, which is an annual ritual, in the same mind as I have for the previous four meetings at David Sullivan's house.

"We will be talking about a smaller budget and to ensure we have the best championship squad. I do know what Steve Bruce will say at the meeting. All the indications I've received is that he is determined as ever to be manager of Birmingham City.
"He is driven by pride to get the club back into the Premiership and I would be surprised if he is not Birmingham's manager at the start of the season. The meeting is not about whether we want Steve Bruce to stay. We want Steve Bruce as our manager.

"Karren Brady (managing director) wants Steve Bruce as the manager, Ralph Gold wants Steve Bruce as our manager. We are a team which has worked and survived the test of time.

We are people who have been in business for more years than I care to remember.
"All of my indications from Steve, including telephone calls and all the other little things, show he wants to remain."

Very clear from that about Sullivan's position.

Stick your corner DS and I will buy one of your porno rags ( & then burn it)...but you stick up for us fans.

I've seen other references to Karren having changed her mind in recent weeks,
has DG actually phoned her or picked up little bits about her position?

Not that she'll have a great say, its Sullivan money that makes the monkey dance isn't it?

from the board.

Steve Bruce WILL BE HERE FOR NEXT season.

I have seen myself proof that no matter what the board say about the meeting this Friday that SB will be in charge when the season starts afresh in august.

No names no pack drill sorry folks.

What do they say about shooting the messenger?
