Is anyone else concerned that with many of our senior pro's leaving and the meeting between SB and the board still a week and a half away we could be missing out on transfers? If I'm correct the transfer window opens today and we will be in no position to take advantage of that for at least 10 days when some 'bargains' may well have been snapped up. Any thoughts? |

Yes you have a point. But then again, its similar to January, when you'd have thought we'd identified the targets before the transfer window opened then, whooops they weren't really prepared. |

there won't be many transfers until after or towards the end of the world cup. Most players worth having will decide when they see who's being brought in to replace them or if they can get a move to bigger better club. After the world cup i predict a transfer frenzy. |

Good thing. I wouldn't want any imput by Steve into future purchases. If the Board had a Plan B, and it was to do with rationalising their wage structure and compensation.......that Plan B will already involve a future manager and contact with agents. I'm not worried. :D |

i think the two weeks also allows both sides to see what happens in the play offs, no doubt players involved would be on bruces hit list, and managers involved would be on the boards hit list |

Going slighty off-topic - sorry..... I thought the two weeks was a "cooling off period" , as you get in protracted negotiations concerning jobs & money ? After all there is nothing to be gained by sitting on your hands for two weeks when you are allegedly in a major rebuilding programme. Unless someone else is earmarked to do the rebuilding. <_< |

Perhaps, just perhaps it's because the people involved with the meeting Sullivan, Golds, Brady & Bruce are gonna have a holiday before all their heads explode after a long and very hard season. I for one would rather they sunned themselves now than in June/July when the fun will really start. Likewise, I suspect many players will also be on their holidays so will not be able to discuss transfers. As others have mentioned the World Cup & play-offs will also have to be factored into the equation. And anyway, who knows what was said in the meeting on Friday. Perhaps targets were identified and they're gonna see what happens with those over the next couple of weeks. You know what Karren Brady is like. There's no way she'll put her feet up and do nowt for 2 weeks. |

My take is that on Friday Bruce was read the riot act and told what would be happening henceforth. He was told what his new salary was, staffing levels/budgets and how potential signings would be assessed and deals negotiated. The two weeks is for him to decide whether he is prepared to accept it all and if not to negotiate a pay-off. In coming to his conclusion he'll no doubt be identifying if he's a wanted man by other clubs. |

No holidays, and Bruce's pannelist job for the World Cup on TV is in jeopardy. Where is his next "little earner" going to come from? Man, I feel so upset for him, having to struggle on with a reduced income of £25,000 a week. Its just not fair. :D |

Can't really see us looking to sign to many players likely to be involved in the world cup <_< |

I wonder if the press are monitoring Bruce's agent for signs of job hunting?! |

How do you know this? [/QUOTE] I was going to ask that, but forgot ! Seeing as we start training on 26th June, he ain't going to be doing both jobs is he ? I think that the BBC panel is going to be based around their MoTD and Score crew. ITV will have all the ex-England managers at a guess - they usually do, so its down to Sky, who one would think will go for Prem managers, who are not back at work. Interesting use of the word jeopardy tho ;) This thread was nearly dead, so this isn't totally off-topic is it ? Sorry in adavance... :( |
