If you find it so easy to just turn off your allegiance then go ahead don't renew. Me personally, I'd pay whatever I have to in whatever league we're in. Yes, they may be expensive, but you only live once and if you get your joy from following your team (through good times and bad) then there's no decision to be made. You wanna be a plastic fan who will only support a team doing well then be my guest, if the Blues are in your blood then you wouldn't even raise a thread like this! (Harsh, but fair). |

99% of football fans believe their club is ripping them off, we're no different. The guys argument is that he wants the club to sign good players first, but to do this they need confirmed revenue (ie season ticket sales). Fans always think they're being short changed, but by who? Where do they think the money is going? The board have done their maths, they need the money now to get us back up and are offering us deals on the following 2 seasons to encourage us to renew. Can't say fairer than that. I agree, it's a lot of money, but no more per year than say an average smoker spends on cigarettes (a lot less infact). Everyone's got their vice, mines the Blues. |

Yeah-tomorrow-you could have a load of massively overpaid W*****S perform so badly that you get relegated and then the board want the same amount off you to renew your season ticket to watch s**t teams put 10 men behind the ball and bore the pants off you to get 0-0 draws.................but amazingly you still manage to scrape in to the play offs after a year of desperately frustrating games. But there's one nasty twist still to come-we lose on pens in the play offs...... ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Oh ****-I thought it was a recurring bad dream.................D'OH! |

Harsh and stupid. Why don't you send them an extra £50 with your application then ? I'm sure that they will appreciate it. |

If you've got money to throw away on an over-priced season ticket, instead of paying-per-game which will work out cheaper. Then maybe you can donate to my Uni fund? Just an idea. ;) I'm sorry, but i don't believe in blind loyalty. You can be loyal, but use your head too. Not renewing my season ticket will work out cheaper. ...and missing out on the benefits of being a season ticket holder I can live with. |

some harsh responses there guys to a bloke who has merely stated his opinion that its worth it to HIM. for people who on other threads give it the big "fair trade" and "equality for all" to imply agreeing to pay is in some way gay is peurile and uncalled for.... its a personal thing to each of us if we are going to cough up again but i dont see the need for personal insults and homophobic references....just an opinion like... ;) in answer to the original post, i wont be swayed either way by what we do or dont spend on players, i'll be swayed by personal circumstances and my now increasing desire to renew... **thumbup |

Oooo calm down, my response was meant to be a tad light hearted. On a serious note, firstly, this isn't an unfiar trade issue, that would trivialise a very serious crime that is a contributing factor of the death of some 30,000 children every day. My comment isn't homophobic, it could quite easily be applied to hetrosexual men and women. It isn't a metephor intended to question anybody's sexual preferences, but a metaphor for being a screwed (and financially at that) On to the issue, BCFC doubled the price on promotion to the premiership and they didn't get a murmour of dissaproval from me or most other fans. I understand that we had become a club whose tickets would be more in demand and that we would see a higher quality of football. If I think about it, there are a good number of reasons why the price hike was acceptable and inevitable. But all those reasons still apply. The club isn't going to be showing the same sort of quality. I can live with that, I always felt the atmosphere was better when we weren't in the top flight. But hold on one cotton picking minute, if those reasons still apply surely a price reduction in ticket price is acceptable and inevitable? It's all about value for money. We aren't getting the same value so we shouldn't be expected to pay the same money. The club may get away with this. A good number of people may still renew. However, if this was any other business they wouldn't get away with it for a second. If a car manufacturer took a popular car, removed half the features, increased it's fuel consumption and made the model less attractive, and didn't pass any saving on to the customer they'd find that they wouldn't sell an awful lot of cars anymore. But, we're not customers, we're fans. We can't just go to another vendor. It doens't work quite like that and the club know it. So, rather than show us the respect of halving the ticket price on relegation as we showed respect and loyalty by paying the increased price on promotion they make a cynical move to rip us off. People may still think it's worth the money, that doesn't mean that they aren't beeing fleeced. But not me. I expect to be treated with more respect. I am not going to roll over and take one for the boys. Gazza. |

As a famous football chairman once said (i cant remember who it was now  ) "There's loyalty, but there's not blind loyalty" That just about sums up my feelings on renewal. |

not at all mate, its just i like to be the one doing it first... :D as for renewing, i find it strange that someone should actually try to influence people NOT to renew. its obviously a personal decision, but why try and discourage people? barking mad.... |

I can help out here (I think). I would urge all not to renew. If the board could see that we feel betrayed (Speaking formyself a bit 'ere) then they would amend their behaviour. But we have to hit 'em where it hurts and the only place they care about, smack in the middle of their cash register. Gazza |

where does that leave the long-term future of the club though gaz? if its about having a pop at the board or brady they can just walk away and go somewhere else. who will suffer in the long run if the majority of fans stayed away? i realise its all hypothetical, and lots of folk wont renew but will go ad-hoc, but the future looks bleak if ardent fans on the clubs' forums are not renewing... |

Good point. But the long term future of the club isn't secure in the hands of people who want to price long standing loyal fans out of the Stadium. If people can't afford to go to St Andy's, they ain't going to be taking any money in at all. Many fans will be asking themselves about the long term financial future of their homes and families if they risk buying an overpriced ST. Gazza |

I think that the board know the general feeling of disappointment. I'm with proccy, if you don't feel you should renew then don't, if you want to post that you're not renewing then give a rational list of reasoning, but too try to influence others seems a bit bizarre As sad as the situation is, if Bruce stays or goes the club need the money to buy new players, without new players we will struggle even more. Yes, the tickets are expensive, and yes the board haven't been appreciative of the core support, but they haven't been creaming tens of millions out of the club, the money was spent and we all know the mistakes. If we want to keep Forssell and Pennant, and add to the squad then the money has to come from somewhere. There is the argument that the board should invest their money, but frankly its their money and they can do what they like with it. Its not a good story, this last year, but its down to us again :( (message to Perry Deakin - Perry, please don't patronise me with a season ticket renewal letter that claims we're going to be signing 8 fantastic new players for tens of millions, I'll be renewing anyway, the truth will be fine) |

i STOPPED BUYING SEASON TICKETS last season ,just can't afford the rip off prices any more and 2 weeks in the sun does far more for me than watching Heskey week in, week out miss from 2 yards.I buy tickets when I can afford it which is like a lot of us blues fans now. Funny, will coventry, wolves and west brom pay the same prices as us Think not, we have been ripped off for too long by this board chasing a dream that was a long way away. |

Well my 2 season tickets coast me £541 last season. This coming season they'll cost me £460 and next season they'll be £369.00. At this rate I'll be paying half a crown by the time I'm in my mid forties. |
