A thought just flashed through my head, If Andrew Johnson had re-signed for Brum when all the speculation was going on do you feel that he would have (A) kept us up and (B ) won a place to the world cup?

A. Yes
B. Yes

No. refs dont give us pens very often and I think his days of getting many goals in teh premiership from open play are over.

Possibly. I would like to say no but how he has got in scoring less than 15 goals (including pens) in the championship amazes me so who knows.

Yes, i think we would have stayed up.

No, he wouldn't have made the world cup. Signing for a midlands club means you just don't get recognised!

no
no

he wouldn't have kept us up because, like all strikers, he needs good service and he wouldn't have got it here.
he wouldn't have kept his place in the england squad because of our relegation...all imo of course

I agree with there being many better players but have they got a call up for england? Nope, look at crouch!

the england set up always makes me cringe.

when sven came and said he would consider anyone who plays well enough and would give them a chance , i thought at last a manager who wont let the media or the FA tell him what to do.

then low and behold it was painfully clear, that that was'nt the case, you woukld have to be an exceptionaly good good player to even be considered if you did'nt play for the big clubs.

and it was plainly clear that a chance ment 45 minuets and if you made a mistake that was it blown for you.

this walcote thing , would he have even been looked at if he was still at southampton, i dout it very much but stick him in the arsenal reserves and your suddenly the bees knees.

Whenever I've seen him on the box this season he's looked out of sorts, not that disimilair to the player he was with us, so no I don't think he'd have kept us up.

I guess he'll move to a premiership club over the summer and it'll be intresting to see how he does cos I'm not convinced he is anything more than a flash in the pan, now defenders will have him worked out I'm not sure he'll be good enough to thrive.

1) Possibly - AJ was at his best with Wayne Routledge to his right to link up with - Pennant is not too disimilar to Routledge.

2) No - we are Brum, if we had Rooney he would only just scrape the squad if that.

agree that the press do pick the england squad, but bear in mind that it was the same press that got upson picked for the england squad as well!!!!!!!!

however, on the walcott thing, i have read a lot of press up north that has slammed him for picking walcott. granted they all want swp instead who the still see as the prodigal son up in manchester, but at least he did not go with the obvious and has taken a chance and offered something different to the fans as opposed to usual mundane crap that turns out for england each week

We could have had Owen or Rooney, or Figeroa for that matter, they'd have all been injured and we'd have got relegated anyway

what?, they are all injured,
Quick, let's sign them up!! they'll fit in nicely.

No imo would of been a backward step as we dont get enough penalties as we dont get the ball in the area.Would be ok in the fizzy pop league thou.
