Couldn't find the Kenny C story but Nico Vaesen broke the SILENCE CUFEW imposed on the players and came home with a few hard truths.......please note they were "Told to play a certain way "" Again 'Proof' that Stve Bruce has completely lost the dressing room and our owners and board seriously want to keep this guy on as manager.....it gets funnier and funnier every day Oh ...and the HP Sauce factory is closing down too...... wtf** http://icbirmingham.icnetwork.co.uk/birmin...-name_page.html |

you'll probably find this difficult to understand, but most teams are told to "play a certain way" be they amateurs or pros - i think they call it tactics, or a game plan or something.... |

Cunningham lifts lid on BluesMay 11 2006 By Ian Clarkson Kenny Cunningham has delivered a damning indictment of Birmingham City's campaign and spelled out the reasons for their relegation in a candid interview. The 34-year-old (pictured) was an influential figure within the dressing-room and his opinions will send shockwaves reverberating through the corridors of power at St Andrew's. Cunningham, who won 69 caps for the Republic of Ireland, is widely regarded as Steve Bruce's best signing since arriving from Wimbledon in 2002. He made his 144th and final appearance for the club against Newcastle in their penultimate home fixture and held his own counsel as the team strove to avoid relegation. However, with the club's demotion confirmed and Cunningham released, he has proffered his own reasons for the club's demise. His honest assessment will make very uncomfortable reading for Bruce and the board, as he pulls no punches. Cunningham is adamant that a major factor in their relegation was "due to a lack of organisation, preparation and attention to detail at the football club. "Unfortunately, and I take no pleasure in saying this, the only person who must take responsibility for that is the manager." Cunningham also claims that Birmingham's fitness levels deteriorated after fitness coach Arnaud Bruchard was released in September and that players constantly informed Bruce of the need to improve their preparations. Yet Cunningham, who was visibly moved during his interview, reserved his biggest tirade for the board of directors and said that his previous employers Wimbledon were a club with a heartbeat under Sam Hamman. He added: "Birmingham seems like a stiff corpse in comparison to that. It has no heartbeat and, more worryingly, no soul. "I fear that while things remain the same the fans and players will never experience the kind of success which I feel they deserve." I believe this tells us all we need to know regarding all levels of our beloved club...... |

A statement of the bloomin' obvious if you ask me, but it still comes as a shock when you hear it from the players. While Cunningham is also critical of the board, they can't be changed, we can only change the management and coaching, thats why it would be better if Bruce, Black & Co would fall on their swords, the sooner the better |

what a state the club seems to be in..everyday a little more unfolds into what we knew was happening really..and Golds wants us to bounce back???how ???between them they are destroying the club....Francis has said if sullivan had his own way he'd run the club with loan players...is that how its going to be.. good on cunningham for breaking his silence on a very unhappy and unorganised team...a teams only as good as its manager at the end of the day !! |

Maybe I'm wrong but wasn't Arnaud Bruchard only there for 2 or 3 months? If that's the case I can't really see how much difference he'd have made to the fitness levels in that time. |

Well it appears that we fans have not been that wide of the mark in our opinions about the managment and board. It is so sad that it has come to this but at least we know for a fact things are very bad behind the scenes, where do we go from here? Good luck KC and all the best hope one day we may see you back with us in some role. **thumbup |

:o  :o  :o  I know the pro bruce lot are going to say that this is just sour grapes as Kenny was not offered a new contract but lets not forget this is Kenny Cunnigham we are talking about. The same Kenny who hardly says a bad word in the press, doesnt have an agent and deals with all transfer negotiations himself and still drives a K reg Mondeo. If it was any other player i woulkd be tempted to say it was just sour grapes but not Kenny. He has confirmed what a few people have been saying for the last 6 months or so. I am sure all those people did not want to be proved right and will take no comfort in it. |

Well a lot of us on here have been saying the same for a while so it's good to see that we aren't going mad after all and someone as well informed as KC sees it the same way too. Drastic changes should be made before it's too late, and I don't just mean the playing staff. |

he may have been but this is a player, yes a player not a fan spreading gossip and rumours about that state of our fitness, so whilst he may have only been there for two months perhaps we should take what he says and trust it!!! |

You don't have to be Europe's top fitness coach to work out that there was something dramatically wrong with fitness levels at the club - it was plain to see on the pitch The players were always shattered after about 60 minutes |

"Cunningham also claims that Birmingham's fitness levels deteriorated after fitness coach Arnaud Bruchard was released in September and that players constantly informed Bruce of the need to improve their preparations." So it seems that the fitness (or lack of it) that has been apparent throughout the season of the players wasn't all a figment of my imagination. wtf** Good luck Kenny, hope you get a good deal somewhere. Top man. **thumbup **thumbup **thumbup |

To be fair it is shocking that Kenny would make a statement like this. He is the last player you would expect to speak out against his former employer. I think we better get used to hearing a few statements like this is the future. Hopefully they will kick the board into action and start a complete rebuilding of this club. New manager, new coach, new fitness expert, new dietician, new training regimes, new everything. If it means spending 2 years in the fizzy pop league for these foundations to be built then so be it. |

i feel that ther are more revalations to come and our road back to the top may very well be a long one. I'm glad that the truth is now coming out and that the players leaving/left have at least given the supporters the respect of knowing the truth, a lot more than what can be said for the infamous board members and the management team. |

Agreed, I think the interview is shocking and I'd rather trust KK to his word than anyone else down there. I also think that Bruchard's time at the Blues is totally irrelevant and I can't understand why he's used this as his argument. Mind you, if he drives a K reg Mondeo who am I to argue? |

 <_< i dont actually and, without coming over all wiselly, why try to cast me as having lower intellect than you or anybody else who posts on this subject? does that somehow strengthen your argument? you demean yourself more than you do me with ill-thought out comments like this. very sad.. ;) |

Tell you what - that has confirmed my suspicions. However I did think that Bruce was maticulous with his planning and detail for matches and tactics... It's just that his team cannot devise fitness plans and keep players fit! I'm doing my GCSE's in a few weeks time - so even I know that when you prepare a training programme you gotta use these principles: Specific Measurable Accepted Realistic Time-related Exciting Recordable and when a player gets injured you use: Rest Ice on the area of injury Compress Elevation So obviously these two principles have not been taken into account at the club... (how about I take over Eric Black's role?!) :P |
