It seems to me that Bruce should have gone when the board said they were 100% behind him at Christmas. At least then he could have left with some dignity. Now it looks like he will be leaving under a huge cloud!

My worry is that if Bruce now goes who the hell is going to come and work for this board after hearing what Sullivan has said recently and now reading what model pros like Kenny and Nico are saying

maybe it's part of sullivans exit strategy - all he needs now is a buyer... ;)

cheers sta4e for posting that

it makes for sad and disturbing reading in full, and i for one dont harbour much hope for an instant return to the prem. it is beginiing to look as though grncoma was right all along about our board too, and most of the rest of us were wrong. its a very sad day for blues i fear, sadder than the mere fact of relegation imo, because from what kenny is saying the future looks bleak....unless ds/dg embrace the comments and enact change NOW - come on, sb has to go lets admit it.
seems to me though, that eb comes out of it with credit as a foresighted and astute guy, maybe he should stay and develop the training/coaching side of things to the correct levels, and let the NEW manager concentrate on the players and tactics for the games in hand.... :(

It really is depressing reading.

The comments made about Eric Black were very interesting. It seems as if he has had concerns about the direction of this club for a while but they were ignored.

The fitness, injury, coaching issues have been visable for a while but the comments that troubled me most are about the club having no heart and no soul.

It really is time for a major change at this club - else i fear league 1 might not be that far off

I have only just come to terms with relegation - now this comes along and feels like another hammer blow to the heart of this club that we all love so much

:(

I gotta say, i'm not a depressed now. Its kind of a weight lifted off, as this has confimed what many perceived to be a problem down the Blues.

Yes the lack of soul down there is worrying, but I can live with that. The fans and a happy cohesive playing unit can change all that.

Now its time Bruce went. The former Captain but never outspoken has lifted the lid. Sour grapes i think not no matter how Blues will try to counter this. Kenny has spoken too much sense and is too respected.

It appears Black has the respect of the players. He's tried to change things, yet stubborn Bruce put his foot down.

Complacency, lack of preparation, lack of fitness, lack of tactics.....its all been evident for 18 months, maybe longer.

The time is up Steve. Time to go! - what you gonna say now Tom Ross?

Bruce out! Black for manager, Kenny as assistant.

And after what Cunningham said about the board, I can't see David Sullivan driving to Kenny's house and pleading with him on his doorstep to take a coaching role

well what can i say that already has'nt been said?

if this had come from any other player than KK then i would of thought sour grapes!

but having more than one chat with KK over his time with us i have never thought he was anything but a straight arrow.

all i have been told by people supposedly in the know at our great club is starting to be proved right, not happy about it but there you go(rather be proved wrong).

SB has to go now (i know i have said that before and also said i would'nt take part in the SB in out shake it all about) but for him to stay now is impossible.

1, what will other players think of us now if he is retained?

2, how can the board even contemplate keeping him and look like there doing the right thing.?

it will be interesting to see who else comes oput to spill the beans.

To me it appears Black tried to implement various things, which Bruce either blocked or stopped after time.

the clues have been there

a lot of what k k said has been common sense really

!!

the striker line

the pennant only threat line

the lack of getting the extra 5% out of players line - (performace against the albion)

2nd half performances in games

NAMING PLAYERS ON THE BENCH FOR GAMES WHO ARENT EVEN AT THE GROUND FFS !!

the lack of foresight about buying players that we actually need to improve and compliment the team rather than just buying NAMES because they become available

i have read it over and over and its hurting me to read that the football club i love so much has degenerated into such a shambolic state

KRO

there is another thing that makes this more true , is the fact that some have said it was the players fault.

i can except one or two players playing bad but all to often it was 90% of the team .

when the majority play bad then there is an external reason.

you can hire as many specialists and experts to do as much analysis as you like but if you don't like hearing what you don't already know/believe is true in your eyes - then the greatest specialist in the world will have no way of convincing you to change your ways. Familirity breeds contempt and i honestly believe that this is the key to the season

" We've got away with it once, we can do it again" sort of attitude seems rife at the club.

I respect KC for what he is - honest, professional, loyal, tactically astute, pacey (NOT) but made up for by his vast experience and his reading of situations before they even develop.

If this man now comes out with the things he did in his interview then I for one can't see SB having the spheres to continue. This was the man who Brucey signed first when he arrived, he made him captain of the CLUB (not just team), he was wholesome in his praise of the player.

Now the shackles are off he can tell it as it was, it does not make for good reading for the mnager. Lack of preparation during the week leading up to matches, no planning regarding training schedules, the whole fitness regime and so on and so on.

Surely SB must hand in his resignation, how can he maintain face after this ? Whether you are pro or anti him you must see he has no place as manager of a football team aspiring to be among the best in the country.

Steve Claridge

KENNY Cunningham has insisted that Steve Bruce should carry the can for Blues' relegation as much as the players.

Cunningham admitted that Blues comprehensively under-achieved this season considering the quality of the squad.

"If I had a pound for every time I was told from inside and outside the football club, including the manager, that man for man we were as good as any team in that Premiership, as talented, bar the top four or five, I would have been very, very rich," said Cunningham. "I think there was a lot of truth in that opinion.

"When you look at the teams of the calibre of Blackburn, Bolton, Wigan, West Ham, it's a fair argument to say we could hold our own in that kind of company, man for man.

"But, if you agree with that statement, then you have to find a reason why we finished the season up to 30 points behind those clubs I have mentioned.

"I'm sure people make the accusation that the attitude and application of the players wasn't as good as it should have been. Now, for me, that's rubbish because I have been in that environment for the last year working alongside those players.

"And I know for a fact that the nucleus of the team were as professional and as conscientious a bunch of players as I have ever played with during my entire football career.

"So that accusation, which has been very hurtful to them all, is a non-starter and I am in a position now to say to people that that certainly wasn't the case.

"There was a real desire and motivation amongst the players to try and make the season a success. So, in effect, if you take that out of the equation, we are still searching for a reason.

"And, unfortunately, and I take no pleasure in saying it, from my point of view, the reason was due to a lack of organisation, preparation and attention to detail at the football club. The person who must take responsibility for that is the manager."

That has to be a body blow for the club and makes SB's position very precarious if not untenable. Interestingly it also seems to vindicate Black as the person who was pushing for change but being stopped at every turn.

What makes the revelations so far even more damning is that they are both from well respected long time Blues players, Vaesen and KC and if anyone would have been expected to have good things to say it would be these two. It looks like a lot has to change aty BCFC if we are ever going to really move forward.
