Of course he wouldn't have said these things if he was still at the club  ,and he only said we would go back up as he was still employed by BCFC at the time. Simple fact is from the mouths of Cunningham and vaesen plain and simple Bruce has not got it , how many more Revelations will come out before you see the real Steve Bruce :(

true garry for some they wont see it unless SB ad,its it himself ,

KK is one of the most respected playuers ever to play for us and he has come out and told the truth and still some (and not many will think it's sour grapes)

paul do you think it now time fro SB to go?

one of the most respected players has told us what most of us could see, has this changede your mind?

Kennys comments have only reinforced what i questioned in the summer and thought back in November. Some saw it earlier, even last season, following Savage's departure. That Bruce had lost his way, lost the respect of the players, become stubborn, ignorant and unable to do a decent job for this club.

Like many I gave him till Christmas, allowing him to reach his target, which he set of, 'we need to reach 20 points by Christmas' where that came and went without reaching it.

We gave him a chance to rectify the situation, assuming everyone was pulling in the right direction to avoid relegation. You know the rest.

Couple of things in addition to all that has been said:

KK could have been our next manger. Respected, knowledgeable and thoughtful - I fear he won't be now.

And...a criticism. He should have said all of this LONG ago. It was his responsibility to speak up and he didn't, and for that KK, I slam you.

It almost certainly would have been a breach of his contract.

What a pr@t! We offered him a 12 months extension in Dec, he said 'No - not sure I've got another season in me' then slags us off when he gets cut. What a sh1tty way to disrespect the supporters who've sung his name for the past four years. ******!

He hasn't slagged "us" (the fans) off at all, indeed he sings our praises. I think you'll find that he is trying to do "us" a favour in a roundabout way. :)

I used to respect Kenny but never thought I would say that he is lower than Savage, and he is a real low life. Should learn to keep his mouth shut and get on with his own life.

do you believe him or not?

why would they be sour grapes? the bloke wanted to retire last year & Bruce persuaded him otherwise. I don't think he's bothered about another contract, more he decided that the one bloke trying to absolve himself of ANY responsibility for us going down should stand up and take it instead of blaming injuries, bad luck, players not playing, lack of cash, Osama Bin Laden, Lord Lucan and the Easter Bunny.

I'd rather know about how bad our manager is from an unimpeachable source than listen to the claptrap we've heard from the club so far.

I agree. I am someone who until today has backed Steve Bruce.
Kenny Cunningham is a decent bloke who usually keeps himself to himself.
There are no sour grapes on his part; as someone has already said, he wanted to retire last season, and now has the opportunity, despite being offered an extension to his contract.

He has nothing to gain from speaking openly as he has, other than relief by getting this off his chest; something he couldn't do under contract.

To compare him to Savage is the highest insult. Kenny is high calibre.

As I said earlier, he may well have done us a big favour here.

apologies if this has been said i got to about page 4 but then couldnt read any further.

the way i see it with regard to some people saying "he should have said this to the board and not aired it publicly" and "if he had got a good deal he wouldnt be saying this" i think thats wrong

The way it reads to me is that he, and others, HAVE been saying this to the board and bruce all season and that they were constantly fobbed off or ignored. In that situation he knew that as long as things stayed behind closed doors the club would suffer. He figured he was leaving and probably retiring and decided he was the person in the best position to say this and the only option left was to tell the people who would listen i.e. us as no one at the club would.

with regard to teh good deal bit i dont think he intended to stay, not for a simple reason like money but because i think he had had enough. I think he DID air these views to bruce and the board and that is why he was, in the words of the mail "surprisingly" and "suddenly" released on monday despite only the day before talk going about a new deal. I reckong he gave them some home truths they didnt like and he saw this as the last chance for them to keep it internal

KK has said all season he dont know what he's doing, Bruce has been tryin to get him to sign a contract all season.

Wake up & smell the coffee dude

Remember Bruce was the reason Bowen left as he was preparing them & felt that he deserved a better contract, went to the board wivout Bruce's say so & the result was Bowen at Blackburn sacked due to Bruce's arrogance!

Bruce & his staff are the reason were down remember that!

To those who suggest that KKs' comments are sour grapes perhaps you'd like to stop and think before you put your keyboard in to gear.

This is man who captained his country and captained this club, A man who against his better judgement was persuaded to play for another season and got on with his job without complaint.

Now becasue what he says in some way conflicts with your view of things it's "sour grapes".

I'd also suggest that you read the article in full and perhaps note some of the salient points. Points ,which I might add, a number of us on here have been raising, and getting criticised for, for a number of months.

Cunningham has no personal axe to grind but speaks on behalf of the players who he feels have been slighted by SBs' "They refused to play" statement. A statement which now appears to have no foundation anywhere other than in SBs mind. Call me old fashioned but I've always thought that it was part of the role of the club captain to speak for the other players and this is no more than KK has done.

SBs' position is now as tennable as was that of Charles Clarke. he has lost any respect from the players, again something that a number of us thought, and is in no position to regain it.

As for new signings. If SB remains in charge we'll be lucky to get anybody whos' agent sees this article.

No this is the straw that breaks the camels back - SB has to go for the club to have any possible future.

KKs' comment regarding the board surprised somewhat but seeing their torpor in dealing with SB this season I find myself thinking that maybe it's time for a restructuring in that area as well.

He wasn't thinking of another year. FFS he only did this one because Bruce begged him. He walked away from Eire last year as he knew he was coming closer to the end.

Its too easy to ignore it due to "sour grapes".

Do you beleive him in what he said about fitness, tactics, preperation etc or not?

The "sour grapes" argument is very thin. I don't think that many people will take it seriously.

I really hope this is a wake up call to the club. Personally I am sitting on the fence. I believe there is an element of truth in KK's statement and clearly this has hurt the board from the response on the web site, but what bugs me is his statement only 1 week ago stating we were going to return to the premership, or words to that effect. He appeared to be quite happy to be staying at the club and towing the line then. OK you can argue that his personal circumstances changed which caused the change in view, but he cannot have it both ways.
I think its going to be an interesting few weeks. IMO many fans are waiting the outcome of a possible decision over SB's future, regardless what backing the board are giving at the moment, before renewing season tickets. If there is no progress or things get worse, the board will know that there will be a mass exodus of ST holders. They have got to start to put things right quickly, and be seen to be doing it.

While Kenny's comments are critical of the manager, it shouldn't be forgotten that they are also an idictment upon the owners of the club.

A manager is easily replaced. But what do we do about a Board who watched with disinterest as we slipped to the Championship, obviously aware that they could still sell STs at Premiership prices for the next three season?

I have said elsewhere that our club is tainted. We are disliked because of the way we treat people. It is a sad, hard fact, but Kenny's comments about this being a souless club are, for me, more concerning than our poor performances on the pitch.

Now is the time for us, the fans, to learn a lesson from this. Blind loyalty may seem commendable, but it is ultimately unhelpful. The fans must learn to question the club, even be critical of it, if doing so will ultimately improve it.

I said early in the season that I would not renew my ST this year. I also made it clear that finance was NOT the reason for that. I want to be proud of my club, yet I cannot while I believe it's owners are using our loyalty to bleed us of cash at every oportunity. I am fed up of all the lies and spin. The Board stood by and watched an inept manager flounder as we slipped into the Championship. They did nothing but talk about next season FINANCES! Disgraceful.

Players leaving left, right and center.
A manager who is clueless - the writing was on the wall from last pre-season when were a shambles
A board lacking the courage to do the decent thing...

If this is not a club in turmoil, what is?

KC,

I for one would like to thank you for all of the stuff you have said recently in the papers. You have opened my eyes to alot of things, as people will know on here Ive been one of the many 'pro Bruce' campaigner's. Ive been coming out with comments such as 'Bruce took us to the prem' and 'Bruce is the best man for the job' however now I can see that he clearly isnt.

I can now see that Bruce is an ex-footballer not a football manager. I am only a fan, I only see what Steve Bruce says in TV interviews, in articles and I only ever see him when I peer over at the Dugout wondering 'Surely, he must do something!'

He obviously thinks that he is the complete manager, one who doesnt need the opinion of pro footballers, the opinions of players who have worked under other, modern, professional managers at international levels or the opinions of the fans. Bruce has never won anything in management except the play offs. He won the play offs with a fresh squad, one that was still stuck in the TF ways.

I think now is the time to say goodbye to Steve Bruce.

:(

After reading all I've read about Bruce, etc....

I've come to my own conclusion (shared by many!!)

Bruce has to go......I had thought it would be a good thing for him to stay but not anymore!!!

I for one will not be buying a season ticket next season if this joke of a manager is in charge, change him and I'm signing up for my seat on Tilton Corner straight away.....

I love my club, I don't want it dragging even further in to the gutter than Bruce already has 'managed' to do so.....he's made us a laughing stock!!

New Manager, new idea's, new outlook.......

KRO

Matty.
