After todays BP Bruces position now looks untenable but it leaves a big question with who will come in and fill the void?

My bet is it will be Curbs, this is not my prefered choice but the one I think will happen.

I reckon at the very least 90% of the regular posters on this message board are anti-Bruce.

Me, I'm getting splinters from sitting on the fence.

I'd kinda like Bruce to be given a chance till at least the end of November to see how he hacks it in the Championship. Not sure why, perhaps it's because he's a nice guy  I say November because that'd give him 3 and a bit months to prove people wrong and if it did go wrong there'd be enough time left for a new manager to sort it out (TF gone Nov SB in Dec if you recall).

At the same time though I wouldn't exactly be unhappy if he was sacked/resigned right now, because I know deep down that the last 2 seasons have been cack to say the least.

However, who do we bring in if he does go ??

Curbishley, Newell, Peter Taylor ????

Go one lads 'n lassies, enlighten me.

Cant see Curbs dropping a division.

I want a young, hungry manager who will drag this club up by the balls.

We will probably end up with Keegan or McCarthy.

hang on this is a thread about replacing the manager and no one has mentioned the manager that gets dragged up every time we talk about a new manager

George Ghrame!!!!!!!!!! I would worry if this became our saviour

I'd be tempted to go for a manager like Paul Sturrock, Ian Dowie et al someone who knows the division and wants to prove themselves.

After his frank and honest interview today i very much doubt he could work with the current board.

However the idea of Eric Black as manager (he did a great job at Coventry and their ans speak very highly of him) with Kenny as his assistant/coach is very appealing at the moment.

Sorry - i missed out the sarcastic smiley at the end of the Keegan and McCarthy sentence!

I was implying we would probably end up with the total opposite of what we want!

Bruce will still be manager, 2 players coming out and slting him will not make the board sack him or him walk...I'm afraid.

Also Curbs will never come here in my opinion. it would be more like Martin Allen or Phil Parkinson

anyone thats made as much money as our board, can probably take critisism on the chin if they think they can profit by it. I guess kenny as manager is pushing it a bit, but I like your idea as assistant coach (may be no coaching qualifications?) St Andys or Player/manager with an old has been to help him?

I know what you mean, after 10 months of arguing to get Bruce out I am now very concerned about his replacement and have grave doubts about the board.

Don't get me wrong, I feel strongly that he should go, and I get the feeling that he will be gone within the next 10 days, but it scares me who his replacement might be

Frying pan and fire is the phrase that springs to mind

I believe (although my memory isnt up to much these days so it could be wrong) that Kenny started working towards his coaching badges last season and has achieved at least the 1st level needed.

I still cant see the board working with him after today though.

I think Curbs would come here under the right circumstancies, a good budget to get young hungry players and the redevelopment of the main stand so as to attract a larger crowd.

Yes we are a championship side but that doesn't mean he would not want to come here, I mean where else will he go? there are no prem sides looking for a manager.

Alan Curbishley - not gonna drop a division.
Mike Newell - perhaps not after his short but infamous time here.
George Graham - someone hand me the noose please !
Mick McCarthey - ditto George Graham !
Graeme Souness - ditto George Graham/Mick McCarthy
Micky Adams - couldn't do it with Leicester or Coventry.
Peter Taylor - seems to know what he's doing, may be off to Charlton though **thumbup
Martin Allen - good shout, young, vibrant, got the best out of DJC **thumbup

Have you seen Brentford close up? I saw them against Colchester away when Colchester were on a poor run - Brentford got an early goal and then tried to shut up shop. Colchester - who hadn't scored for quite some time - got an equaliser and then spent 60 minutes battering them.

As for Mickey Adams, not my choice, but not exactly working under big budgets at Leicester or Coventry, so hardly a fair comment.

Agree with Burley but he may be a target for some prem clubs so we either have to act fast or really sell the idea to him.

Black is the guy that actually prepared the team for saturdays. He's more damned that Bruce by kenny's interview.

If a new manager arrives he will have to be a YES man with this board.
KK's condemnation of the board was equally as bad as is critisism of Bruce.
KK says it would cost £500,000 to bring in qualified backroom staff, but Gold
would sooner spend that amount on a tin cup.
Sorry we are in real trouble.
