yes but think of the psychology of it stanwood .. we all are a bit anti the board at present .. if they appointed someone that had openly (but not necessarily behind closed doors, and they must know any new guy is going to want to critisis the existing set up and make changes) critisised them .. they might think us supporters are going to say 'wow they really are going to take note, change and improve the club' ... lets all go and renew our season tickets! |

No, I haven't seen Brentford close up, so fair comment. As for Micky Adams, not my choice either by the way, but I think saying he hasn't done it at Leicester or Coventry is a fair comment, because he hasn't. |

Ian Dowie Jordan said he wanted promotion and Dowie has't deliverd. Will Jordan drop him and go for a prem manager? possibly. Plus i'd laugh my bottom off if we nicked two managers from Croyden Palace and especialy if Dowie got us promoted at Croydens expense. lol |

Did you see him on Saturday at the play-off first leg? I went to B&Q with a picture of him and bought that shade of Cuprinol to paint my fence |

Curbishley - if he wants to return to management. Dowie - it'd pi55 off Palarse and i do think hes a good manager. Bothroyd - if Watford failed to go up. Blackwell - hes still not liked at Leeds. Peter Taylor - surely he'd jump at chance to leave Hull. Nigel Clough - dying for chance at bigger club. Are we too big tho? Big jump. Dennis Wise - got Millwall to FA Cup. Roy Keane - He'll ruffle some feathers. He spoke out about lack of preperation for Ireland, so he obviously sees importance of it. |

We need a general manager to lay it on the line to the board. An experienced person who over a few season has built (not bought) a decent team, ie Mcleish as he did at Hibs. With this we need somebody young but not totally inexperienced, but somebody who likes to play football and the floor and WILL command the respect of the players. We need someone ambtious with something to prove. McLeish and Clough for me, it's a dream partnership. It seems to me that this club would be much better off if the team manager/coach, call him what you want has as little to do with the board as possible. |

Martin O'Neil doesn't take training. He turns up, runs round the pitch with the players and then disappears. I think it's irrelevant wether Bruce takes training or not. |

no but it's a question what does Bruce do? If he doesn't coach what does he do for the days on the training pitch. I honestly would like to know. |

I think it's more like what does John Benson do? I thought he was supposed to be the general manager, doing the things that I presume Bruce is doing while he's not taking training. Mind you, knowing me Benson probably left 3 years ago. Is he still there? |

Perhaps the best shout yet - especially if the watford bloke can bring a couple of the Watford players (with Ashley Young one of them). However this thread has demonstrated to me that its so easy to say Bruce out but obtainable, qualified alternatives are very thin on the ground |

Sorry but how is Denis Wise a good shout? He has done nothing but get a poor side to a cup final and then to see it comprehensivly out classed. |

It ain't going to happen. Don't you think the board don't already know the stuff Kenny has come out with? Ask them why they haven't done anything about the manager. They won't sack Bruce, he won't walk away. As for Curbishley, there is no way we will go for someone like him, and they wouldn't come anyway. When Bruce goes we're back to the Barry Fry days. It will be someone like Martin Allen, gawd help us. |

He is young, hungry and would instantly command respect all round. He may be a little !"£$ but he could be what we need. Anyway would prefer McLeish or Davies to be fair. |

Adrian Bothroyd. Took over Watford 12 Months ago when they were virtually relegated. Kept them up. Got them fit, organised, well drilled and playing with a passion - all on virtually no outlay. A week on Sunday they could be in the Premiership after being the bookies 3rd favourite team to be relegated at the start of the season. He's 35, enthusiastic, clever and tactically aware, he wouldn't stand for shirkers (Julian Gray would be straight out of the door) and knows the Division and the players required to achieve in it. He would be my choice. But, all this is totally irrelevant as Bruce will be here until November when he'll be sacked with us in 15th place, when the season will be over, when a new manager will have no chance of achieving anything except avoiding another relegation fight. |
