KC is right, against Newcastle away we played the 4-3-3 system with Jri having the role where he could push forward and we played probably our best game.
And then we reverted back to the old 4-4-2 and Jri was then played out of position and we never had what was his true strengths.

Now if KC could see this and I'd imagine he'd have made his thoughts known to the coaching staff as captian (And if not then why not, or why was he not allowed to) then why could SC and Black not see this.

The mind boggles it really does

the reason Bruce would't play it because he would't be able to satisfy Pennant, Gray, Stan all season

We should have gone 4-3-3

oh well what will be will be i guess.

Actually, I think the reason Steve doesn't see the obvious is to do with his make-up.

He will not be told. Hence he doesn't listen.

Thus any criticism is like water of a duck's back.

To a large extent the position of captain in a dressing room is one of consensus and trust. The players trust and confide and expect the captain to further their opinions. Kenny Cunningham would not have spoken out, had he thought he was speaking only for himself. I think he knows that when push comes to shove he will be proven right.

So why did Steve bring the refusals into the public domain?

Same as every other Saturday.
Its a deflection from himself being criticised and its a deflection from accepting responsibility.

Only this time it was a disloyalty too far.
And one of the most loyal servants our generation have seen, responded.

LOL just to reiterate Kennys statement on the state of the playing/management side of the club could have been copied and pasted from this forum.

Its scary like this one

One other was actually beginning his first full season in the Premiership and although a talented player, I think it was obvious that his style of play wasn't ideally suited to the Birmingham City style of play.

That is almost exactly what many of us said about Pandiani - good player but not suited to the league and especially not suited to us.

In many ways, I actually feel more positive.

KK has aired the views that many of us had, and has confirmed many of our suspcicions. His statements have made the position of SB a very difficult one, hence there is more chance of him leaving.

Although I am sad at what is happening, transistions are always messy. Remember when TF was first removed - things were a mess, SB on gardening leave, we were a laughing stock. However, it ultimately worked in our favour.

Similarly, this is bloody and messy and gory, but if it leads to the appointment of a bright new manager (a bit like SB himself when he was first here) then we will be better off long term.

Yeah great point Charlie - i'm just livid at the preventability of the situation - i just assumed that everyone involved was so myopic that no one could see it and only those not so close to it could. Now its been confirmed that this wasn't the case it hurts.

On reading the Birmingham Mail tonight (and Cunningham's comments)....so he calls it 4-3-3 system at Newcastle does he? It was more like a 4-5-1 system to me.

On that subject, lets say we had Forssell or Heskey up top on their own...i still don't think we would have scored anymore goals than we have done. The problem was not the system, it was the players. I can,t be sure but did we have Gray, Pennant, Kilkenny, Izzet and Jarosik in that 5-man midfield (or 4-3-3 as Cunningham calls it). Well, how many goals did that lot contribute over the season?

See my point?
