http://home.skysports.com/list.asp?HLID=38...ball_Home&f=rss After reading today's evening mail and reading Sullivan's comments I'm really worried about this club. It is as plain as day that Kenny is making an honest assessment of what has happened this season and still the board choose to take it personally/defensively rather than actually listening. Kenny said that players had brought this up on a number of occassions but was ignored...and it appears that this is still happening. I've no doubt Kenny didn't want to do this interview but felt a shock would be the only way for the board would listen....I guess this hasn't worked either. :( Everyone appreciates that the Blues board have contributed massively to BCFC and there's no doubt in my mind that we wouldn't be having this debate without them; as we probably wouldn't be in the football league! However, as we are all aware, we are not all perfect and we make mistakes.....the bottom line is how we deal with these mistakes- and at present the board are only digging themselves deeper. 1) A very experienced professional footballer states that the tactics, coaching and preventative injury care have not been adequate this season. Other players agree with him on this. Bruce has also agreed that he is no master tactician. This is also obvious to the human eye with the injury rates and fitness levels being so poor. We are very grateful that you have spent so much money on getting big players to our club- however, as proven without the appropriate training, coaching, fitness etc their skills will deteriorate. We need the whole package to get the best out of the team and we should listen to the experts on the best ways of acheiving this- we shouldn't be 'penny-pinching' on this. 2) Kenny states that the club has no soul. This is very insulting to the board; I think most of us agree that they do care for the club and want us to succeed. However, the board need to try and read between the lines of this statement and not take it personally. The club is very well managed financially-there is no doubt. However, employing staff who are not Blues fans to commercially manage will only influence the finances in the short-term. Blues fans are sick of the 'spin', manipulation, disloyalty, lies etc- if we believed that the club was looking after us, believe me we would look after them. We don't feel appreciated and often feel conned by the very people we support and adore. You may be able to treat employees like this but not Blues fans over a long period of time. We recognise that football is very much an 'industry' now and maybe Kenny is just disillutioned with the footballing world like many...but he does have a point. We're not stupid; we know that you have to make a profit for us to succeed...but this is coming at too big a price.....we're forgetting football and we're forgetting Blues. We need to get the balance right...and if that means we're never one of the biggest clubs in this country then so be it! Anyway, I could go on for hours with this...but I'm getting sick of my own waffle so I'll shut up! |

You're right. And I think the fans would be more likely to buy their season tickets now if they could be sure the money was going towards things like decent coaches and fitness experts, and wages being spent on players that wanted to earn that pay packet. |
