is steve holding on to prove himself right

or because he wants to put this club back where it belongs

all to often it is about bruce and how he has not become bad over night, how unlucky he has been how he is going to turn it around how he wont quit

struggling to hear any quotes along the lines of i have let the club down, they deserve to be in the top flight, i will turn this club around

 .... (what happened there?)

he is more intersted in himself - his reputation etc. I think he is 'determined' to prove he can manage, and so what some see as blood and guts for the club is acutally desperation to be proven right. IMO.

Probably a bit of both I'd say.

I know if it were me I'd want to prove all the doubters wrong...wouldn't you ?

Both IMO.

BUT I fear (if he stays) he will try and do it by sticking doggedly to his beliefs. As he has kept telling us all season - 'in difficult times you have to stick by what you believe in'. He still believes this despite repeated failure and many around him telling him otherwise.

Sorry to say, but driven purely by self interest, imo.

He aspires to manage Newcastle, Man U or England. To get there he needs to demonstrate success managing a club like us.

If he stays & somehow manages to turn things around, then he still has a glimmer of a chance.

If he leaves now, he will be regarded as a failure, his next step would be a smaller club (e.g. Norwich) or the media & his prospects for any of the really big jobs would be non-existent.

He has nothing to lose by clinging on. We have plenty to lose however.
