Available on a free transfer if he decides not to sign an extension to his Newcastle contract which I don't think he's keen on doing as he wants more action. Another young, English player, to add to our squad.

I'd sign him then sell Heskey and use the £3.5m(ish) to refurbish the defence and sign Danns..
£1m - Kelly
£500k - Danns
£2m - Gardner/Shittu
Total = £3.5m

With a strike force of Jerome, Forssell, Chopra and DJC we should score enough for promotion next season.

"Barnsley 17 Goals, 39 Games
Watford 5 Goals, 5 Games"

Hasn't set the world on fire but he showed at Barnsley he can score goals if he's given a run in the team. DJ Campbell isn't exactly much more than a so so player but everyone thinks he can be useful next season. I'd be more than happy with Chopra as a 3rd/4th choice striker behind Jerome and Forssell (I know he wants to leave for more first team action but we wont tell him hes not going to be a first team regular  .. although you never know with our injury records!)

Watford was 3 or 4 years ago.

Barnsley were in the 3rd division.

Now is he any better than we already have, I would say not. would I sell Heskey and replace him with Chopra no i am afraid not. only a lunatic would do such a thing.

Your first name isn't Sven is it - all of those are essentially the same type of player - why have four of the same.

Because they are all mobile and at their best with the on the floor. As soon as we play with a Heskey or a Sutton we just hoof the ball to their head and play the most unattractive, boring, football imaginable, with an average of a goal about every two games.

So you think selling Heskey will stop the hoofball sorry but have you not noticed that It does not matter if we play Heskey, Forssell or Campbell. we continue to play Hoofball.

Its not the players that are the problem. its more to do with the way they are told to play. why do people assume that selling one player will solve the problem? why is it so difficult for them to see what is staring them in the face.

I wasn't blaming the hoofball on Heskey, he doesn't scream for the ball to be played to his head, I'm just saying that the kind of football we all want us to play does not suit Heskey, as he has a bad touch, bad pass, bad shot and is not much of a goal threat. I know the tactics need to change more than the players, but out of all our sell-able assets, I'd rather cash in on Heskey to strengthen the whole of our team.

Well then that settles it, we MUST sign him.

On second thought.....

Heskey,Jerome,Forssell, and Campbell will do for me. With the likes of Allen and Aluko moving through the ranks.

He has a bad touch is this the same Emile Heskey who turned Upson inside out in his last season at Liverpool. when they played the ball to his feet. or was it someone else.

is this the same Heskey who has over 40 England caps. where they played the ball to his feet.

He was bought with the full knowledge that he is not a prolific goalscorer.

43 caps, 5 goals, I don't care who you are, playing upfront alongside Owen and with supply from Beckham, Scholes, Gerrard etc, that is utterly pathetic If hes had the ball played to feet as you said, surely he could have found the net more times than that.

From Tommorow's SUN Newspaper

BARNSLEY are making a late bid to hijack striker Michael Chopra’s £200,000 move from Newcastle to Cardiff.

Also some might find the following interesting

1) READING want arston viler midfielder Lee Hendrie, 29.

2) LIVERPOOL have made a £3.5million bid for Birmingham forward Jermaine Pennant.

Boss Rafa Benitez is desperate to bring in a winger this summer.

He expects to get a work permit for Chile winger Mark Gonzalez after red tape blocked the deal last year.

But he wants another wide player as part of his rebuilding plans.

Former Arsenal and England Under-21 star Pennant, 23, fits the bill after playing 48 games for relegated Birmingham last season.

Same here. I would rather take the risk on the Hungarian striker than Chopra. His goal scoring record is brilliant.

Not sure if its been mentioned, but we've joined the chase for Chopra. What's your views on this? He certainly works hard, but has he got any sort of quality?

Chopra was good enough to play some games for Newcastle last season. Even on when they were on a rich vein of form.

From what I rememebr hes a bit like Bellamy, but more a link up forward. Can play as attacking midfielder.

For 200k I'd say get him.

I also think the Hungarian blokes record is pretty good. Can he bring that to us tho?

Don't mean to say I told you so but, well.... I will! Felt I took abit of unfair abuse for a shout to buy the guy as a 4th choice striker!

Looks like he's sitting pretty nicely as the leagues top scorer at Cardiff - the leagues top club!

Any chance of an apology Willie?
