I don't know about anyone else but I am really enjoying this world cup. I have heard a few punters say it is the best since 1982 and I agree,

The open play, the attacking football and the goals. In the pub sweep I went for 192 goals total (exactly 3 per game) and nobody is around from 187 to 197, so I even have a bit of a spread. So keeping a tab on the goals is making it really interesting.

Only about 2 games have been dull, the rest have been entertaining and exciting. Well done to the coaches. This truly puts McDross deep into the dinosaur zone.

I've enjoyed it, and the smaller less glamorous nations aren't that bad either. McLeish is coaching the Scotland 5-a-side team at the Euros in Finland, he's playing 4 at the back.

Warts an' all, (there aren't many really) its been really good, even the timings of the games has been convenient.

The African and lesser known teams have been exciting, unpredictable, and refreshing. Can't fault it really. From a nerve point of view, I'm glad we're out of it. **thumbup

My God, you and lowhdam just never let up about McLeish, do you ?

McLeish played in three World Cups for Scotland (1982, 1986 and 1990), he captained them as well and when he managed them he won 7 and lost only 3 from 10 matches....a win percentage of 70 % .....would hardly call that the record of a dinosaur

Meanwhile your hero Capello couldn't the best out of Russia in what was a fairly uninspiring game between two apparently strong European countries with Belgium depending on a 19 year old to get a very late winner .....However this World Cup has thrown up some surprises packages and some good play

You both seem to have the bizarre knack of gobbing off at exactly the wrong time

It still is enjoyable viewing. I thoroughly enjoyed the South Korea v Algeria match on Sunday and watching Brazil on Monday and Colombia last night was entertaining.

There are so many goals, over a hundred already at an average just shy of 3 per game.

I must say I avoid watching Greece, what a pity they have qualified. There's a job tailor-made for the long-term unemployed McDross.

Absolutely; it's been quality!

I was forced into watching Greece (as Ivory Coast are one of my adopted tournament teams), and they are as tedious as ever; obviously effective, but dull all the same… Managed to advance on a dubious penalty decision.

Congratulations to them, but I hope Costa Rica knock them out.

It was a pretty clear cut penalty in all honesty

I have no qualms with the style a nation use if it helps them progress

If any country has been dull to watch so far it's been the Russians IMO

But I prefer to see the European countries advance over Latin American ones

I should have added that it's dubious to me because I was supporting the side adjudged to have committed it… Obvious dive from Samaras. ;)

This competition keeps getting better.

Last night's games were superb.
Brazil-Chile was so entertaining. Where did those 120 minutes go?
Colombia-Uruguay produced the goal of the competion. James Rodriguez, what a goal. And I love Colombia's dance routines.

I thoroughly enjoyed the two games yesterday.
