I've used ZoneAlarmPro for a few years now. There had been a few problems with it not so long back, following a few upgrades. Loads of people, myself included, got very pee'd off with them. I had to uninstall and reinstall on a regular basis. Hubby kept saying to get rid of it and get another one, but I stuck with it because I believe it is definitely the best on the market. I haven't had any problems for a few months now so I assume they have sorted the problems out.

My daughter has the free version of Zone Alarm. She hasn't had any problems with it.

I tried Zone Alarm for a while and found it very,...foreign like. Ie, the layout, how it worked etc. I scrapped it and now have AVG free which has never give me or anyone I know any problems.

But AVG is a Virus Guard isn't it. Zone Alarm is a firewall. For virus guard I have avast and my daughter has AVG. **thumbup

tried the free version last night and was astounded with how many alerts of possible threats to the PC it came up with, but also had problems with AVG, which would load up on start up.

To be honest with you Microsoft's firewall should be good enough, it comes built into Windows XP SP2.

Microsoft also now provide a spyware removal program called 'Windows Defender' check microsoft.com for that.
